Happy Birthday Gia! (smile) .. Today I received your album in the mail .. a collector (coke bottle) clear vinyl edition .. so artful. You can't imagine my excitement as I saw it waiting for me as I arrived home. I felt like a child receiving a 10th birthday gift. I couldn't wait to open it and play it. As a fan it has been almost that many years since I first discovered your music (through Daniela). I once compared your voice to Billy Holiday .. beautiful, enchanting and haunting all at once and layered with such lovely meandering harmonics and lyrics. It's such a true experience for me. Along this journey I have treasured each musical cover not just for your unforgettable voice but for the irreplaceable experience leading me through the looking glass (down the rabbit hole) to so many new artist's original works. Thank you. So now you have an album of your own original works. Wow! (that's my best word!) I scooped it up so quickly and rushed it to my bedroom where my dad's old record player waits patiently for these kind of musical moments (rare)! I lay down listening to it from start to finish and as each new song played out it was such a joy that eventually I started to cry. Your haunting voice filled a place in the air that was just timeless .. you did this!! Unbelievable!

I find this two or three weeks after the birthday I'd never thought I'd reach. I had an old deadline that bulit itself up for years, like from being 13 to 16, but I decided to wait it out. It felt like a part of me who always set this day as their end, finally found its rest right before my 18th birthday. And I find myself a bit different than from what I used to be, but still kinda the same. I found out I never really hated myself, just the situations. The way I had to be something. Now, the part of my life I never calculated in has started. Though I don't exactly know where to go right now, but its a process. I want to reach the things my inner child yearns for. I'm sorry his childhood in some ways had to end sooner. Through being trans, I finally can imagine a future where I could not only be more content, but also see myself exist. I don't want to wonder anymore, up until which age I'm going to make it. This song is really soothing- god, music is really the best thing. Thank you Gia for this really soft music video :)
