I don't really think anyone would read this, but I just want to thank Daughter for being this amazing band, my favorite band for almost 6 years. I don't think I will ever have the oportunity to see them live, it makes me a bit sad, but I am really grateful anyways. Their songs helped me in my worst times, dealing with the worst I could bear, in times I thought that I wasn't gonna be there in the next day. Thank you for everything. Outside of the lyrics by Jordan Dreyer from La Dispute, I don't think I've heard a song quite like this, where it really feels like a poem set to music. There's a palpable shift as it heads into the gang vocals, yet the music barely changes. It's all in the words. That's not unusual for Daughter, but there's a disarming looseness to the lyrical structure here that sets it apart. I don't want to be one of those people that credits a lead performer for the hard work of an entire band, but I have to say this: Elena Tonra is absolutely brilliant.
