Giannis & The Milwaukee Bucks Are NOT What You Thought They Were.. | NBA News (Jrue Holiday)

The Milwaukee Bucks have come out of the gates to start the 2022-23 NBA season as one of, if not the most dominant team across the league. And even while missing key pieces like Khris Middleton, Pat Connaughton, & even Joe Ingles to injury, Giannis Antetokounmpo & this Bucks team continue to persevere. But the way in which they are doing so seems to be how nobody would’ve expected, at least when thinking back to the 2022 NBA offseason.
The improvement in the game of Giannis year in and out will never get repetitive. And with the jumpshot of Giannis getting better and better, while it’s not insanely efficient, it is opening up new ways for him to operate both on offense, defense and even for his teammates. With role players stepping up tremendously like Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis, Jevon Carter, Grayson Allen, Jordan Nwora, Wes Matthews, rookie Marjon Beauchamp, etc, the star power of Giannis & Jrue Holiday for the time being has been enough for the Bucks to thrive, which is scary considering who is waiting to return.
But aside from the offense, the Milwaukee Bucks defense has been the highlight of their winning ways. If Giannis continues to be a human highlight reel & receive the support he’s got from his teammates, he might just have the best cast of players around him he’s seen with head coach Mike Budenholzer. Will it lead to an NBA Championship again in 2023? Time will only tell.

Easily Brook Lopez and Jevon Carter have been the biggest surprises so far this season. Would love to see a playoff starting lineup of Jevon, Jrue, Khris, Giannis, Brook - that would have to be one of the scariest defensive lineups for opposing teams.

As a Greek, Giannis obviously made me (and I think whole Greece) to watch more basketball games. So, for the last 3 years going into 4th I try (try because the time difference is a bit ridiculous) to watch as much games as possible of Bucks. I couldn't agree more on what you mentioned in your video. I am not an expert, but I clearly see too, that this team has potential and I hope for the best. Also, Giannis I believe he takes many positives by playing every 2 years on FIBA courts where they are smaller. His game is becoming more creative. I have been a die-hard Miami Heat fan since 1955. I have cried and ached for this team. And I want to admit that every time we play against the Bucks I tremble with fear. I feel sorry for my team that will have to face these monsters and especially this beast that goes by the name of Giannis Antetokounmpo. When that day comes, I usually sit and cry in my bathroom at home, begging God to show mercy to my team. This is not fair!

Jevon has really just blown me away - the man is on springs 100% of the time and has that kind of PJ Tucker mentality that the Bucks really need. That said - I feel like the Bucks have figured out what every other team in the NBA has forgotten - basketball is a team game. You can't just mix and max superstars and hope for something amazing - you need to build a team. The chemistry on the bucks is the best its ever been

The Bucks should be the favorites to be in the eastern conference finals. Possibly against the Celts. Playoff basketball is about paying the price for seasons. Just ask Cleveland. It takes more than one season. The predictable collapse of Utah will happen. Giannis is the best basketball player on the planet. He’s outright just scary good. The best thing Coach Bud did was switch his defensive philosophy to better guard the three. That was their downfall in the Celtics series. We have a great defending team but their willingness to give up open 3s (especially in the corner) to protect the paint was an old defensive philosophy that doesn’t work too well in todays times. Yeah it helped them win a ring a couple years ago but it’s also very exploitable with a team (like the Celtics) where everyone can shoot.

They have to be healthy first. Giannis, Jrue and Grayson are all day-to-day with both Giannis and Jrue missing the last two games. Boston doesn't look like they missed a step from last year even without Robert Williams. Jason Tatum is having a career year so far.

Let's be Giannis (honest)..... They could have played both those games but coach Bud is load managing. Seems it is part of his strategy to keep his biggest weapons well rested throughout the season and for them to be available in all big divisional games. The games that matter most throughout the season. Otherwise it has been fun seeing what the bench can do without them on the court. This lineup is so stacked. Giannis and Jrue will both start tomorrow against the Hawks.

As a Bucks fan I have seen enough to know right now they have a legit chance to make a run. That said.... I need to see Kris play , his shooting was hit or miss at times already and if he can't hit big shots or drop 30 in a post season game his value to the team would be very low since The Bucks are deep at his position . It wasn't just the injury , he was just starting to be a legit all-star , I just really hop for him and The Bucks he can come back 100%.
