I love the little scooter as well! Heinemann's hot-rod! Thanks for posting this flashback; sometimes there's some hidden gems on old hard drives. I hope all is well with you and the fam and you guys are getting settled in your new surroundings!

Yeah, hot rod alright! I have a liking to them, as from New Zealand, they were the air force till they were disbanded in the 1990's. I recall 20 years ago watching a TV series called "Challenge Of Flight" which focused on US Military. One episode was pilots testimonies & this one guy said the most fun he had was in the Skyhawk, as it was like a hot rod of the sky's! is this the same guy you're referring to called Heineman's?

@@richardteale8203 Hey Richard! Yes indeed, I like these little jets for sure. I had to add an "N" to Heinemann's name. Ed Heinemann was the lead military aircraft designer at Douglas back in the day, and he designed this compact little attack jet, the Skyraider, the famed SBD Dauntless, and so many other iconic aircraft. They nicknamed this jet the "Scooter" because it was so little, quick, and agile. The A-4 would also get the nickname "Heinemann's Hot-Rod" for the same reasons. Cheers to you my friend!

@@JustwingitRC Hey thanks for your reply & that info, good to know my new found A4 enthusiast & friend! My dad was in avionics in the NZ airforce & told me of how well the A4 still performed against the more modern Australian F18's with joint training manoeuvres! Such a shame my government disbanded them.👎 Cheers.🍻 brother.👍 Rich.😎

Reminds me of a Bob Violet A4 with a Rossi I built back in the early 1980s. Thanks for bringing back the memories with this superb model🤗

I saw the last year Blue Angels used A-4's... they were very precise and awesome roll rate... it was a couple years before the F-18 show was as good!

Yep! I saw the A-4s perform a bunch as a kid and remember when they went to the F-18s and being disappointed by their show. They just didn’t have the grace and maneuverability that the A-4s had.
