i think i was waiting for it from the beginning of 2021 when rumors about this new bike came to my ears. the problem is to find it. i told the seller to keep me a small size trance when avaiable and he told me that giant gave to him only 1 M and 1 L size. he also doesn't know when he'll have possibility to book more... btw my 2019 is still a good ebike, i've done 9000 km with that and had no problems. i want to made this upgrade passing the "old" one to my gf as soon as possible. one strange choice that giant made is not to sell top E+ 0 in italy... bah not a smart idea i suppose

I demo a 2022 Trace at the Int Moto show in So Cal last weekend and yea Giant/Yamaha got the Trace spot on. The PW-X3 motor feels great, its right there with the CX PerformanceLine motor and the Trace suspension is active & has a a bottomless feeling to it.

I have one of those bikes but it's a 2020 and they super fun to ride and the motor is very strong. Mine is candy apple red in color. But man I love that bike. So fun to ride and it handles perfectly!

Thanks for that great ride review Steve! Based on your review and comparison with the 2022 Reign E+1 I changed my pre-order to this bike (Trance X E+1 with alloy frame, full XT, 750 wh, and Fox performance suspension) as its more suited to my terrain in the foothills of the Canadian Rocky Mountains around Calgary, Bragg Creek, Banff, Canmore. Thanks for the feedback on the PWX3 motor! It looks/sounds great!

Great Review and comes across as a great trail bike and climber.! Obviously not quite as powerful as the Bosch Gen 4 but I think would be a great all rounder.!

I ride the trance e+2 on road to my work everyday. Does a great job on bumpy roads, crushes through icy slush. It accelerates well and helps climb those steep city slopes. It doesn't feel that heavy with no assist, was able to push it till 15mph. Full suspension ❤️

Bravo, superbe revue. J'ai pu essayer le Reign pendant 400km, je n'ai pas aimé. Disons qu'il ne correspondait pas à ma pratique malgré qu'il soit très bon et stable en descente. J'ai maintenant le Trance Advanced e+2 avec la toute nouvelle batterie de 800 Wh. J'adore, un régal. Mon velociste ne m'a pas poussé à prendre la nouvelle suspension, pour lui ça n'apporte pas grand chose, compliqué à régler puis la différence n'est pas assez importante, par contre c'est mieux d'avoir une grosse batterie. Je changerais les plaquettes de frein Shimano qui n'ont pas les ailettes de refroidissement et de meilleurs disques qui sont basiques.

I think Giant have realised that they need to promote their product more than in the past. Although we all love EMBN and the content, most of the reviews are paid promotion. When the first Trance and Reign E bike came out there was nothing in the way of promotion/ reviews. The new stable looks great. Not sure why we need carbon frames on Ebikes though, the weight saved is minimal.

Hi there, yes it's a serious consideration indeed whether you need carbon right! I did actually cover the early Reign bikes on the channel and whilst we do flag up paid promotion such as this, which some people might not, in the past month we have also covered over a dozen other bikes too

@@dezzydiamond7121 There are some tests to failure of head-tubes in Santa Cruz's facilities for the "same" frame in Alu and Carbon, and what the carbon frame can handle over the alloy is insane, but in either case, forks are the weakest link, not the frame. Totally agree that when we are talking 20+ kg bikes, saving half a kilo should not be the goal.

On my 2020 the motor just fine , but you have to waterproof the connectors and remote , hoping they fix that .

@@diegao83 my 2021 model has been fine and I have used it in really heavy rain and snow. It's not missed a beat. I no they sorted all the connectors for 2021 to help water ingress so I would think 2022 would be even more waterproof

​@@carlyzf250 yep I have the 2021 and ridden lots in rain and woodland floods! been great... One thing is they need to sort out the water puddling in the lower back shock when you wash it, it does not drain and acts as a mud pit.

They are great bikes but hopefully the controller doesn't go out. My 2021 Trance X has been down for 5 months waiting for a replacement 🤨 my bike shop said there are 6 more trance X waiting for the replacement.

According to Giant the Trance models are not available with the 750wh battery which makes the choice between Reign and Trance easy.

I think it's market dependant. In Poland there is Trance X E+1 that has 750 Wh battery.

it depends of terrain and support mode. in my case 625Wh enough to get approx 60km range with 3km uphill so additional 250w add approx 30km and 1.5km uphill

I'm on trance 2021 and with 625WH battery best I got was 50km with 1.8k elevation became battery went dead (most of the time on smallest assist mode) However my cousin who is lighter had still 25% left on same bike (smaller frame though) so the results might vary a lot.

This video views more like an advertisement than a review! How can it be possible that you have nothing bad to say about it? No bike is perfect! And you called this bike light!? In comparison to what? I have the Trance e+1 2021 and its heavy. The auto assist mode is terrible as its sluggish to react. The assistance mode customisability on the app is poor.

I have a specialized with bosch motor and my wife has a yamaha with yamaha motor since April, 2019. I have no problem at all. However, my wife send two times 2020 and 2021 consecutive years to fix yamaha motor. Please avoid yamaha. My wife no longer believe yamaha motor.

Have you ever owned one? 10,000 km and no major problems on my Trance +1 pro. Original motor, unlike some mates on Specialized who have done less km and on 2nd and 3rd motors.

@@kevinhawkins9944lol I have a Specialized Levo with 6,000km original motor … you can’t compare just because you hear stories I know of 3 different people who had Giant and all motors failed including Yamaha … and it depends how you care for your bike in my opinion Giant and Yamaha are trash companies I had 2 ebikes with a Yamaha motor and both failed the second one was a replacement it failed Brose or Bosch are the best

I have a 2020 E Reign and it’s been amazing. I ride in the mountains of Lake Tahoe and it’s been superb going up and especially going downhill. No problems at all and for the price and spec my friends are really impressed. It’s my first E bike and after riding their $10,000 plus bikes I got the deal!

@@AverageDadMTB3 Not stories Kevin. Fact. Giant is the largest bicycle manufacturer in the world. According to my two brothers who owned a cycle shop for over 50 years, Giant e-mtbs are better bang for your buck compared to Specialized, with Specialized providing better after-sales service. I don't have knowledge of other manufacturers as Specialized and Giant are the largest selling e.mtbs in New Zealand by far.
