The Gothic Wedding cake, in my opinion, was stunning. I loved the black and gold, the gilding. Saying that, my absolute favorite cake, I think, is the octopus cake. I love how detailed it was, The sculptural aspect. My mom is a ceramicist and I love sculpture. I was a cake decorator for 15 years before I got chronically ill in 2010. I adore watching your channel. For a cupcake flavor, I’d really like a lavender honey with a vanilla buttercream.

Can you do a gluten free cake? I have a wheat allergy and I like to bake but I'm not sure how to properly ice a gluten free cake without having it crumble. Also I have a question, how long have you been baking?

I can't tell exactly but I think you need to find a good cake base first. I'm gluten-free as well, and some cakes have crumbled but I have had some success before with Aldi's live Gfree brand.

The gothic wedding cake got so many views because is has a simple color scheme, yet is intricate, and symmetrical. Black and gold are absolutely beautiful together. That, and it's uncommonly seen. We're all used to seeing "rainbow" this and "unicorn" that where it's a ton of color one white, but this is the clear opposite. Because of this factor, a lot of sites like to make posts about it, knowing it'll reel in views, and at the same time, the good sites accredit you or link the video. That is NOT how I found your channel (I found your channel through the "recommended for you" videos on the side of a How To Cake It video), but I have seen some of your videos making their way to my facebook.

I think the gothic wedding cake was my first MAC video. the gum paste lace ornamentation stuff looks really exciting and also I'm a big fan of the gothic stylings. It sparked an interest, that became a subscription.

My theory (as to why the Gothic cake got to a million views), is that it has something to do with the algorithm that KZbin uses for its recommendations. I don't have any solid evidence on this, but I've heard that the KZbin algorithm chooses which videos get popular, and one clue I have is that the Gothic cake vid was the first one of yours that I'd seen, and I'd never watched anything about cake decorating (in particular) before that that would have tipped off the algorithm. 🤔 I dunno, maybe reply to this comment if the Gothic cake was also the first MAC video you'd seen? (just to try and get some statistics)
