Absolutely fantastic blue fin are in our waters and so close to shore. Also it’s lovely to see the fish you caught put back instead of that ‘catch and cook’ crap. I’m not sure about keeping tuna if you managed to land one. The odd mackerel are fine to keep but when you see holidaymakers get off boats with 50 mackerel you just know 90% will be in a bin.

Very enjoyable watch, loved the drone scenes of the fish chasing the lures. Amazing to see the bluefin tuna so close - a direct result of the measures finally put in place by ICCAT (International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas) some years ago.

Never forget how lucky you guys are to live and fish where you do. I’m just back from visiting family in west Cumbria and the Irish Sea is like fishing in a desert. Prawn trawlers over the years have turned it into a wasteland.

Nice informative video guys. Interested to know what lures you use for the gar. Have tried loads and watched them follow and give it a knock. I usually use a float rig and half sandeel for big gar but lures are more fun and better at preventing deep hooking. Tks.
@TheFalAnglers2 ай бұрын
Thankyou mate! 😁 For gar on this particular day I was using a 28g savage seeker, I tried with pearl white and the black one too and they both worked. The key was a really sharp hook to increase hookup chances but it definitely helped there was so many as they feed a lot more aggressively with more competition. In general though anything you would use for mackerel would also catch garfish 😁

Hi Will, unfortunately we don't give out any marks from where we fish in the videos out of respect for other anglers that potentially fish the same marks. If you did want any advice on the sort of attributes to look for in a mark feel free to message us on Instagram or Facebook.

They used to be prolific, but were fished out. There is actually a british record tunny, as they were called, of circa 500lb from the Scarborough coast, I believe!
@gaycha65892 ай бұрын
There are quite a few and they are protected. Saw a large school of them, again chasing garfish, off Start Point 2 weeks ago. Garfish are shallow and surface feeders and this is what draws the tuna up.
