I had a redtail cat for over 10 years. It was 39" long and weighed 38 lbs. when it died. I saw a couple over 4' long at Sea World. If these hybrids get even bigger, you're going to need a bigger tank. Mine was very tame. It would come up to the top of the water for me to pet it and would eat out of my hand.

That is our old catfish. We named him big Willy. He was a awesome fish, just started eating out fish. He was in a 600 gallon tank and almost out grew it. He likes to eat tilapia and other fish. We also have a 28 inch shovel nose. He is a great fish also. Good luck with big Willy. Great fish but does not like other fish

Years ago I worked in a pet shop.....no room for a slew of large tin foil barbs.....we ended up putting the majority of them into a red tail cat tanks.........needless to say he ate about 8-10 of the huge tin foil barbs ultra fast before we could rescue the rest. Our boss was oblivious to this much to our delight. Awesome fish !!

Hell yeah those are some of my favorite fish along with bichirs, pike/pickerel species, arrowana and peacock bass. Gonna have to make a ton of trips to Larry's with that beast, if not take some fishing trips to catch bluegill and crappie. PS Chunk is definitely an awesome name, combo of what he was named and "Lawrence "Chunk" Cohen" from The Goonies

I'm a fan of The Goonies.... I approve of the name Chunk! This is an amazing Hybrid. I think I've heard of these before. I gotta be honest, I hate the fact that I don't have a basement because I want to be able to build a pond like that and put Salt Water Angels in it!!!!!! ... ... Or maybe some discus.... I dunno. But amazing job, man.. it's pretty crazy. I also had an idea with your round pond you just set up where you can make it a dual habitat!

@@SCFishKeeping I like the idea of the round shape tub as a "fish tank." I think setting up a rock work in the middle of the tub where it comes out of the water elevating towards the top and some how incorporating some type of home made filter where you can design mechanical and some type of biological filtration and having it come out towards the top where it spills out like a water fall will make it look nice. But also, have a branch that come rises towards the top and have it double as an open enclosure to be able to have Chameleons also. You can set up lights and have them hang over the "branch" so that the animal can get it's proper UVB and UVA nutrients from the light, you can also incorporate some type of feeding trays so that you don't have crickets running around the basement although I am sure your daughters would get a kick out of it! lol. I know you're a fish keeper and normally so am I but I like certain reptiles and I got this idea after seeing your last video (which was my first one. well done by the way, subscribed right away!).
