My friend has a Berner that's afraid of everything. A few years ago I found myself standing behind him and starting scratching his back. His tail was wagging until he turned around and realized I wasn't his person. He then proceeded to leap six feet over and land on his water bowl, flinging it across the yard. 150 pounds of adorable wussiness right there

I wasn't too aware of the traits of Bernese until recently but I would say that they are about as good and adorable as a golden retriever, a kind German Shepherd, and much better tempered than St Bernards. Cooper is an adorable and handsome young dog. Of course he was a bit wary of new things but that's intelligence. You don't want to be Darwined when you are so young. Some young humans could take note when perilously filming things to put on line. Who knows your floor might well be in Las Palmas and covered in hot lava, a clever dog has got to take precautions. He was a real young gentleman and got called a coward. Better than being an aggressive idiot any day. His tail is magnificent in the sunlight!

We called our GP a “dumb blonde”. Like Cooper she was afraid of slick floors which worked to our advantage as we could control where she went in the house with area rugs. She was a sweet and quiet girl, a senior we saved from being euthanized by an older couple who didn’t feel comfortable with her around their grandkids. She became the favorite of the kids in our neighborhood.

As someone who grew up with goldens and assisted the local responsible breeder, I can absolutely see the golden heritage. That head shape, the tail, the way he walks, it all screams golden to me. Just change the fur color, and he would fit right in. Such a cutie!

I love the tri-color coat. My australian tri-pod Callie has it and when she gets her weekly wash the contrast of the clean white on brown and black pops so beautifully.

@@Joyful_StaR She has an injury in her front left that makes it essentially unusable. The nerves are completely shot, and the muscles are atrophied. We're looking into our options, but its looking like the best one is amputation, which will be an opportunity to look into prosthetics.
