That was amazing, Jordan!!I was born the year this movie was made and it is by far one of my favorites, a true American classic!! I have always wondered whatever became of this place and now finally I have the answer!! These vlogs are invaluable and remind us on a daily basis undiscovered treasures right here in our own country. All you have to do is look for them!! James Dean was in his glory & he most certainly deserved it. It's wonderful that Marfa Texas is able to preserve this piece of history. So Sal Mineo was in 2 movies with James Dean. Another great one. I'm surprised no artist has done a skeletal sculpture of the original house plan incorporating what remains of the structure. It seems like it would be very doable, not to mention beautiful. I would definitely contribute to a Go Fund Me for a project like that, and I bet a lot of Giant and James Dean fans would as well.

I was at Little Reata site August 2014. The only thing there at time was the windmill. The two posts did not have the Little Reata sign. I 'am mixed about all the new stuff at site. It's easy to find now if your a fan.

I’ve been waiting for this vlog ever since you put the pictures up on Instagram. The art installation is so well done. The artist did such a beautiful job capturing the essence of the movie. You got to actually film the windmill and the “Little Reata” sign up close. So incredible that you were able to get permission from the property owner. I can’t believe it! I also never imagined anything from the set still remained. This was very cool! Thanks Jordan such an awesome vlog today! This is one of my favorites. Very well done! My grandmother was raised on a ranch outside of Marfa and this movie will always have a special place for me. It’s been quite some time since I’ve been there. Interesting to see they have markers out there now. I had to do the best I could to find these places on my own and cool to see the windmills I located are in the exact place of the ones shown here. Nice to see these markers now though. I also found the Ryan Ranch but didn’t go on the property. Will be there in a couple of weeks again though; perhaps I can muster a visit to the ruins myself if anything remains at this point. I really love this area of Texas and always manage to channel my grandmother’s and my family’s memory when there. The Paisano is a very special place to stay, as is the Gage Hotel in nearby Marathon for those who like historic hotels.. A great area! And a great little video here!

Great vlog Jordan. I lived in Marfa for a short time in late 1982, early 1983. I have a photo of both the ruins of Reata and the windmill. None of the cut-outs or signs were at Little Reata back then, just the windmill. A local resident showed me where to look.

I made a trip to Marfa 1n 2012.prior to the visit I called up Ms. Min Lopez from the Marfa Tourism office , and she kindly received a permit from the then landlord to visit the remains of the house. As we got there from the famous dusty road off Hwy 90 , I just got excited , as the old facad surprisingly emerged from the horizon. The ranch owner Ms. Evans showed us the original movie script left as a token from George Stevens.
