Massive walleye! Do you choose when to fish at random? Are there weather patterns you look for?
@AnglerX9 ай бұрын
I fish whenever I can get out but I especially like calm days with a falling barometer. Cloudy days tend to better as well.

you recommend liquid willow cat scent or smelly jelly for walleye fishing. Which smelly jelly you use for walleye and crappie.
@AnglerX2 жыл бұрын
I recently started using liquid Willowcat and have had good luck so far. Smelly Jelly is also effective, I generally use the baitfish flavor.

What is the reason you chose one length rod over another? more current a shorter rod? thanks. Knowledge is the key a little inspiration never hurt.
@AnglerX2 жыл бұрын
I think rod selection is mostly personal preference. I use a 6’9” and 7’2” rods for walleye. They both work well and are a nice length for casting jigs and have good length for good hook sets and battling walleyes with their head shakes.

X you’re the man. How do the gates up change your approach ? Thanks
@AnglerX2 жыл бұрын
When the gates are up a lot of the downstream wingdams are blown out by current. Large back eddies by the day form that allow one to fish effectively close to the dam. Otherwise I’ll fish spillways in high water.

I've never been gung-ho about scent on baits as they have never made much difference for me. But now that I'm targeting things other then "whatever bites" like catfish and walleye for this tournament coming up. I'm wondering how much more difference they do make. Considering all the local youtubers I've seen use liquid willowcat scents have been recording unedited back to back fish on every cast footage lasting for 10 plus minutes. I might give it a try. Also I've seen liquid willowcat baits at island outdoors on French Island and caption hooks in Genoa. I haven't been to the bait shops in onalaska since last fall so can't tell you there.
@AnglerX2 жыл бұрын
I’ve tried different scents and I can say from experience that they do work. Will fish bite without them, absolutely. I think it adds one more level of realism and enticement to your baits and may push an otherwise hesitant fish to bite.
