Giant! North Carolina Smallmouth and Brown Trout Fishing

Winter fishing on a mountain lake in North Carolina for big brown trout, largemouth and smallmouth bass. Live bait was the key to today's big fish.
I have created this page to share information with the hopes of helping you become a better fisherman and catch more fish. I do this with the heart of a teacher in mind while trying to make it simple and fun for anyone!

You said minnows, what size where they, but were those planners? trolling? if yes, what speed?

All live bait (blueback herring)...slow trolling (1 MPH) the live bait was key.
