This video is a complete overview of how to change out the bearings on a trailer. This is a step by step video so you can easily do this for yourself. Enjoy!

Well done. Very detailed on what to do, how to do it and what to be careful of. Many years ago I replaced front wheel bearings on my Dodge based on my buddy’s description. He failed to say (or I forgot) to loosen the nut after tightening it down to seat things. Ended up on the side of the road with a seized bearing.

My bearings don't have that retainer that fits over the castle nut (nut that holds the bearings snug). I've been shown to install the castle nut with the castles out so the cotter pin can be installed through the castle slots to keep the nut from turning after it's installed thereby maintaining the snug bearing fit. Thanks

I going on a 6 hour trip to upstate NY to slam some smallies and I'm currently about to start this job on my trailer. Is it neccessary to replace bearings and the bearing buddy? if it is ok?

I'm sorry to ask but the after removing the races I noticed what looked like chips on the lip that the race sits on. How bad is this and if it is do I need another hub?

Are you really using a ratchet wrench as a punch tool?

Your jack stand should be in place before you do any work on your wheels, and bearings. Also it should be on the frame of the trailer, and not the leaf spring. Also if don't put it off to the side of the leaf. It literally does nothing there. If your jack was to fail your jack stand would likely slide off the spring, and you'd have a mess. There was plenty of frame to choose from, and you choose the worst spot, after it should have already been on a jack. Hopefully people watching have an idea of how to safely put jacks under their trailers, and not copy your video. It could really hurt, or kill someone.
