Our hunting trip to Ohio got interesting today, as Josh shot a dandy 10 pointer. Josh shot him about 200 yards from me, and less than 5 minutes after it was shot I saw the buck being chased by coyotes into the creek next to me! From there, it got crazy.
To see the full story of this hunt, check out our latest video at the following link ...

While in my tree stand I watched a doe and fawn get a drink and leave. Just as they went out of view i heard a commotion and fawn distress calls. About 20 minutes later the two coyotes that had killed the fawn came in for a drink. Only one left and if I had a gun and not a bow neither of them would have left.

@@mightyfraserriver977 I can't help but think it's all by design. It's that way here in the states to but only the ones who actually hunt can see it, the snowflakes are too stupid and don't understand. Why else would they bring in wolves from your parts down here that have never been native and release them. They also put out no incentive to control the coyotes. I killed a 5 yr old 10pt that was chewed up in many places and his man hood was torn open. You could also tell they had tried to get his throat. I kill every coyote i see but not enough people do. It sounds like Wyoming here at night and i'm in TN, way too many predators.

He has 1000 acres he used to have fifty moose every night in his fields for forty years straight . now there is one big bull moose left and he's getting attacked and easily tooken down because they adapted into Maga packs to kill biggest prey with ease . So I said start killing.he said he killed 50 in a month by trapping them he became very good. In the next month another huge pack came in and cycle continues.

I was actually stalked by a coyote while scouting for turkeys late in the afternoon. I was walking a path in the woods stopping occasionally to listen for turkeys flight to the roost. While walking, I had a feeling I was being followed. I turn back to see a lone coyote his nose down ten yards away. We stared each other down for about 30 seconds. The coyote turned and walked away back down the path. While walking in the dark early in the morning Deer hunting, I always hear coyotes howling and yipping. It is a bit scary. But ever sense the coyote following me, I carry a minimum of a handgun when walking in the woods. Most coyotes should scare off, but you do hear of random attackers now and then.

There is a woodlot access driveway to either side of my property where hunters park their vehicles, and every evening when the hunters have been walking out of the woods and driving away, within MINUTES we hear coyotes howling there, obviously having FOLLOWED the hunters. They did the same with us just after dark just after we had spent a day collecting a deadfall tree out there. They were howling and barking like crazy right in the exact spot where we had been working. Obviously declaring it as THEIR territory and telling us to fk off! Our shouts and noisemaking didn’t phase them one bit.

An awesome video. I didn't know that this buck was already arrowed by you when this atttack by the cototes was taking place. So glad that you ended up harvesting this injured by several things very badly hurt buck. Also glad that you got to it before the cototes did at anytime. For if they would of caught up with him first when hurt before dying the worst could have occured. In any case thanks for sharing it all with all of us. Some people are easy to critize but some things just go wrong at times in our lives, even in some hunting situations. Some of the same even occurs in our every day lives at times. We can all second guess anyone, or their at the time judgments. We move on while learning and try to do and think a little better is all we humans can do. So folks give this not so bad ending, man and video a break. Maybe we can all learn something from it all in that process too.

My friend came up elk hunting last November. He walked out back and hiked around a bit. A short time later, he called me and said, "I'm sorry, but I just shot a cougar!" As it turned out, he took a break and sat on a log for a while. When he got up to leave, he heard a sound behind him. As he turned around, a hundred pound male cougar was getting ready to pounce on him from thirty feet away. He said he had just enough time to mount his rifle and shoot. He hit the cat in the chest. The bullet came out the lower chest. I skinned it out and the trajectory of the entry/exit wound confirmed it. Right down to the point blank powder burns and singed hair. 🏹🐈👈

what did the man say in the video? "nice shot at a buck getting attacked by coyotes". the so called gut shot you idiots are looking at and so quick to point out is the bloody hide hanging down from one of the coyotes ripping at the soft belly in a coordinated effort to dump or expose the entrails. the man never fired a shot. he replied in the comments they were all to far away for a shot in his opinion. back to this gut shot you all seen. not. distracting the buck, the hind quarters or rear end and soft belly tissue between the genitals and rib cage are the three primary target areas for a minimum two coyote strategy in bringing down a mature buck. this is due to blood loss, exhaustion, extreme pain from spilled entrails and hind quarters being ripped apart. ultimately it appeared the coyotes winded him and retreated. sometimes you just have to draw a picture or spell it out for some folks. this man deserves an apology from alot of people. that's just my opinion.

Josh shot a ten pt and then a few minutes later this guy saw that deer in the creek being attacked by coy dogs. SO if that is the case, if that was the deer josh shot, then he didnt make a good shot at all seeing the deer put up that much of a fight. double lung shot he wouldnt have made it 200 yrds. just saying. please correct me since i cant see the link. but the intro clearly states this is the deer that josh shot? i do get it about the coy dogs going for the ponch like wolves do but that deer was very much alive and kicking after a bow shot. just saying. would love to see the link. maybe the intro is wrong?

Deer is good as dead. They seem to have removed his testicle which is a common way coyotes attack male prey. It causes the deer to become weaker and weaker due to the huge blood loss. Even if the coyotes left him alone he would die.

Too bad you couldn't have dropped out of the tree and dropped an arrow into that buck and then arrows into the dogs... Sometimes when animals are so caught up in action like this they don't see the other stuff going on around them.... What ended up happening? Did you guys recover the deer? Did the deer get taken down by the dogs?
@WiredToHunt
@WiredToHunt 10 жыл бұрын
The actual "attack" only lasted the 15-20 seconds shown in this clip. After that the coyotes ran off. That said, I didn't have enough time to fully process what was happening, let alone unclip from the tree, climb down the tree, etc..... As to what happened, the coyotes ran off, the buck walked off, bedded down twice and died.

Hey Allison why don't we just let the wildlife overpopulate start inbreeding consuming all of their food and start starving, from what i see a decent shot but not perfect. Not every shot will be perfect and to get up closer would have possibly caused the buck more pain by running farther. The coyotes would have attacked regardless they were hunting in a pack.

Make sure you trap them late late winter or better yet early spring so other dispersing coyotes don't fill the void you created. Fall trapping isn't nearly as effective at protecting your fawn crop.

what did the man say in the video? "nice shot at a buck getting attacked by coyotes". the so called gut shot you idiots are looking at and so quick to point out is the bloody hide hanging down from one of the coyotes ripping at the soft belly in a coordinated effort to dump or expose the entrails. the man never fired a shot. he replied in the comments they were all to far away for him. back to this gut shot you all seen. not. the hind quarters or rear end and soft belly tissue between the genitals and rib cage are the two primary target areas on a mature buck for a minimum two coyote strategy in bringing him down due to blood loss, exhaustion, extreme pain from spilled entrails and hind quarters being ripped apart. ultimately it appeared the coyotes winded him and retreated. sometimes you just have to draw a picture or spell it out for some folks. this man deserves an apology from alot of people. that's just my opinion.
