Thanks, I have 2 seeds of a specific giant pumpkin strain, as well as just a packet of dill’s and pretty much figured I would be starting inside in some sort of Jerry rigged growing corner. I have squash, mini pumpkins, and sugar pumpkins to start also… I will probably direct seed those. It’s still to cold to direct seed, or transplant, in the 30s here.

Great video. I have tried for years to grow pumpkins and They start very well but ALWAYS get a white mold and the plant dies before any pumpkin can mature. Any tricks go prevent this?

Ok so now that we ruled out that your not growing in a rain forest or something. Does your soil drain well? What time of year is this occurring? How many hours a day does you patch receive sunlight?

@MobyMikePumpkins Dryer topsoil on a slight hill with clay a few feet down but drains well. Probably 8-10 hours sun and I usually start them inside and plant mid June. The powdery mildew starts when the plant is established and 3-4 feet long.
