I honestly believe a lot of people might like having garden paths paved with puzzle-shaped slabs, ones that they could maybe rearrange when they change the layout of their yard/garden. I'm guessing waterjet isn't the most efficient way of doing it on a large commercial scale though.

This is super cool. Do you think you can etch with a waterjet? If so then you etch a design in to the stone then cut out the puzzle. Would be a cool concept for local water jet cutter. I always see marble countertops that people pull from service and they end up in 2nd hand stores, Something like this would be pretty cool on it as well.

That's actually sick, and you're sitting on a real idea here I think. Selling large stones in interesting pieces like this is a great idea. It's significantly easier to move by yourself all cut up into pieces. 1000$ is ridiculous for a single rock, but if you can streamline and sell these them for like 200$+shipping. I could see them being sold all the time home depot to the "Quirky DIY" Middle class families.

You should get a different colored rock of the same thickness, then cut the same pattern in it. You could mix and match pieces.

Looked it up and apparently demolition waterjets exist! They're used to clear out concrete while leaving the rebar relatively unscathed (presumably they don't use abrasive). I had no idea there was a need for that, but it exists!
