Love this channel, genuinely amazed nobody has been seriously injured yet. Spinning that blower up to RPM ranges it was never even remotely designed for, just waiting for it to go critical and send large metal shrapnel out with the force of a hand grenade with someone standing right next to it. Considering that blower was almost entirely cast metal means when it fails it is going to shatter especially at that kind of RPM. I learned to respect rpm a while back when I was messing around in my shop spinning up a old fidget spinner with an air compressor, It slipped off the dowel I was holding it with and when it touched the floor still spinning at some ridiculous rpm it detonated, had a piece go through the bottom of a workbench up through the 1/4 plywood top and punch a hole through a HVAC duct. Realized at that moment it could have easily killed me.

Works as intended. The Supercharger will fill that balloon at lower rpms, so even if the water jet is making spin slowly, it'll push more air. The Turbocharger won't fill the balloon as better because you need that water jet to make it spin quicker, because only at high rpms you're able to make it spool.

Pretty cool. I like the smoke bomb effect. Those "gears" inside are called screws. Just think of two counter rotating screws really close to each other, they're gonna move something even if it is just air. Air is a solid, and you proved it with the baloon. Supercharging for dummies.

@svtbill894 жыл бұрын
Volume and pressure are two different things. 90psi coming out of the tiny air chuck hole is much less volume than whatever amount of air you guys had coming out of the giant turbo hole, at lower psi. Also, that's a roots blower because the blades are cut straight(ish). In a twin screw supercharger the unit is actually a compressor and the blades are cut as actual screws. They're more efficient because they're compressing the air in the unit itsself where as a roots blower just hogs a shit load of air into the lower manifold where it's then compressed and finally flows into the engine. In practice application you can look up the difference between a stock eaton and a whipple in the 03/04 cobra world, or most high HP mod motor fords for that matter

A supercharger from a Buick 3.8 would move more air than the puny one from a cooper mini. That’s probably the lowest flow supercharger out there. None the less this was a cool video. The turbo has a much bigger air flow compared to your 90psi compressor. Bigger turbos flow way more air mass than smaller turbos even when they both are at say 20psi. Some one may explain better but because the turbo filled it quicker than the compressor it doesn’t mean the turbo was over 90psi lol
