I remember when I was visiting western mongolian province years ago, my brother and I stumbled upon a similar sized huushuur at an aimag naadam. The cook (a nomad herder) had what we call a 40 liter soviet era milk canister made from thick aluminium. We asked if he could let us do a taste first and pulls out a huge disc shaped huushuur on a plate. We almost went full belly. Needless to say the taste was delicious. Air, water, meat and flour used for it was free of any pollutants so it had to be good.

Horses and wolves... We share those amazing animals with our Nomadic family from the steppes. Horses and wolves are symbols of freedom. The need to be free. To be one with nature and to rely on our instincts. Wolves remind us to protect the pack and trust our instincts. Horse reminds us of powerful forces that cannot and will not be tamed. Sharing a bit of our Apache symbolism here... I am not sure what Wolf and Horse means to Mongolian nomads. Will always show love and respect to Mongolian warriors. It is amazing to see so many similarities between our culture and yours.

not a soup. it is fermented horse milk called airag and alcohol occurs naturally due to fermentation. in other central Asian nations it is called kumis. a must have for Naadam.

That is called Airag. We made it from milking horses in very strict time schedule and lot of time and effort goes into brewing. Alcohol content vary by how long you brew. This drink is very nutritious and boost up immune system, rich in calcium, basically better version of beer.

I'm guessing this forest is for pole logs, perhaps for yurts and not for actual timber? No room for the trees to grow properly in there, so crowded. The milk drink looks very nutritious, I'll have to google what it is!
