I watched the second vid where you landed the fish gaffing it . I must admit I would never have gaffed or killed it .
@EduschEdek11 жыл бұрын
blame the trailers and longliners. Nevertheless fantastic fishing mate, love your vids. Amazing catch with the minimum strength of gear, love that kind of angling. Sadly I'm just able to fish in our boring fresh waters. Would love to visit new zealand some day to catch a big gt. Until then my stella is supposed to stay in the vitrine. Greetz from germany

Why does the capt drive away from the fish i mean keep a bit of tension on him but thats rediculous either that or he doesnt like the guy playin the fish .

@Dreegogary sw is the tougher reel in my experience but either way you go you can't go wrong
@andrewlinesjah45387 жыл бұрын
Listen mate , the handle is reversible , if not - Get another reel ! Secondly , if line capacity is in question - Van Staal offers best weight and size to line capacity ratio ! Also larger Stella's can be employed for greater line capacity with smooth drag , much smoother than Van Staal which has a sticky drag that can tell on the hook ! Good to see Spinning Reels in action ! Tell us what reel was being used to land this fish ?

From 7:40 to 8:00 you can really feel the tension this guy is having on being on these fishermen's boat. I dont think they liked you on their boat, man.
@clify10012 жыл бұрын
how many big tuna have you caught?mate a tuna that size is obviously goin to strip 400 without even raising up a sweat,seasoned bluefin tuna anglers using 37kg game tackle get blown away and i mean clean spooled by fish that size.so dont think tightening the drag is goin 2 ruin the fight if anything they only run harder.
@goodride200413 жыл бұрын
lmao left handed reel, you can put the handle on the other side mate!!

LOL. I said prove it. I didnt say sit on your arse and quote some propoganda estimate from google or some agency with an agenda. Mate the data being qouted is old and wrong. We are the front line, wer are out there, the SBT is back in such a big way its bloody ridiculous out there. Tens of thousands of Tonnes of junior and adult SBT are frerquenting off Southern Australia with schools over 1000 miles long. None under commercial pressure in Vic or Tas. Get out there get a clue.

I hope this and other videos get it out of people's minds that 'coffee" grinders are better and more able, than ever before. Mine has 65 pounds plus of drag, think about that.

you dont tighten the drag as the fish if going! you ruin the fight! you have to set up your drag for the tuna so that its even.. if you tighten the drag too much for the fish to handle than thats just like cheating. oh and dont tighten it too much you you will snap your line.. in true prospective the tuna won and would of spooled you.
