Man if you want some MONSTER black drum Pensacola is your destination. We catch them so often as bycatch sheepshead fishing on the bridges that they're really just a nuisance here haha. The Pensacola Bay Bridge (3 Mile Bridge) is generally loaded with drum in the 30-40" range and beyond, and they're dumb easy to catch. Fiddlers, blue crab, shrimp, or oysters is what we generally get them on using sheepshead knocker jigs. And let me tell you, landing a 40" black drum from a kayak is absolutely wild. I dont know if kayak fishing interests you at all but if you're ever in the area and want to land some giants from a yak, I'd be happy to make it happen 🤙 Awesome video as always dude, keep up the great work

I may have to look at getting one of those rods for sure. I'm not a salt water fisherman I almost exclusively fish fresh water. I do fish for stripers behind a giant hydro dam and use light 1/4-1/2 ounce jig heads with super flukes. I need something that can cast something vary light as far as possible. I will definitely be picking up some of the braid I usually use 15# with a 20# shock. Can't wait to try them out and see if it's better than my current setup.

Awesome video man. When baitfish are bad, I use the whole crab (5” or more in Texas) so I don’t get robbed as easily. Especially if I’m targeting the big black drum or bull reds. Just twist legs and pinchers off to get sent out better.

For a fish like a drum that can live in both salt and freshwater is it safe to rinse it with freshwater or does it compromise the quality?

Wonder what the Silk Ocean line will be like long term. Seems awesome! Will it wind knot easy? Is abrasion on par with others?
@RyanMorie9 ай бұрын
Haven’t had any wind knot issues personally. I’d say the abrasion resistance is on par with anything based on diameter. Meaning if you compare another braid that has the same exact diameter they’d have similar abrasion resistance. If you’re worried about abrasion don’t size down, just stay similar diameter and enjoy the improved strength.

Get you a few blue crabs (youtube how to crack and hook, simple). Toss out a crab. You'll catch the bigger Drum. That's how we do here in south Louisiana. If you have a lot of "bait stealers" hook a smaller whole crab (they eat whole crab), leave the shell on. let it sit. Don't set the hook till it runs. If the small fish are there, the bigger fish are too. *** posted this before I saw the end of the video. 👌

Great long video. I cook a lot of bbq. And have had to trim a ton on those folding tables, and at that height it will quickly wreck your back. If you take about a 19” piece of 1.5” pvc and slide it over the end of the legs.( 1 for each). It will raise your table up to a more comfortable height. Keep up the good work.

Growing up in Orlando in thew late 60's all through the mid 70's I have a real love hate relationship with Sebastien. I've caught giants and I've battled the jacks but we always came home with a butt ton of Mullet for smoking. If you want the big Black Drum head over to Tampa Bay and fish crabs when they come in to spawn. We've caught 80# ones on Gandy bridge. Lots of worms in them but that's tow truck fishing at it's best.

Both are good reels. The 10k Gosa is a low gear ratio, and the MQ 14k is a high gear ratio. BG MQ is a lil lighter I think, the gosa has a lil better drag and a better line roller design. It’s up to you, but I’ve also covered these two reel in a vid that you can find in this channel
