So just after 14 mins the guy was disappointed that he missed that mod. You can go to mission select, replay the mission, get the mod and keep it for future missions. No downside to replaying a mission! It means you can go back and pick up the stuff you missed at any point in your campaign.

Just a clarification for anyone who watched this, they said in the video they didn't think you could go back to old levels and collect whatever you missed while in fact you can from the main campaign menu. It saves all your upgrades and all the stuff you collected last time you played the level shown as orange on the mini map and it will show you what you have missed as white. You can also change to higher difficulty in options and play the old levels again with all the new upgrades you have earned which is kind of cool.

1) You get runes that affect glory kills, including one that speeds them up and another that gives you a speed boost after doing them, so it does wind up feeling like a crazy-fast speed combo system if you go that route. Instead I've chosen a thing that gives me armor for glory kills and another that gives me infinite ammo when my armor is high enough, which is fucking nuts. 2) Generally, I think the glory kill system is fabulous both because of the rhythm it creates in combat and because of its risk/reward tactical considerations. It makes this game feel totally unique among first-person shooters, all while still feeling very much like Doom. 3) The way the campaign works with secrets and challenges is exactly how you'd want it to. You can replay any mission from the save slot menu, and any new things you find get basically added to your save file so that they're available when you go back to your current progress. You can also continue to work on mastery challenges while replaying levels. So the character progression and collectible stuff keeps building up when you go back. 4) The Hell levels have colored skull keys. ^_^

***** You have to shoot them again. They are basically in a near-death staggered state and will regain some health if you don't finish them off. It's fair if you think about the risk of getting close to them for the glory kill versus spending a little bit of ammo to end them from a safe distance.

in this COD saturated world, there is no marketing campaign for this game that would be super successful. I know I sound like an old fart, but these kids don't respect their roots. I've seen all sorts of reviews deriding this game for its ho-hum multiplayer and storyless campaign. people are obviously entitled to their opinions, but they need to realize this game isn't about the story, or creating new FPS conventions. this is a throw back to the old days, a reimagining of the game that started it all. this is raw, visceral fun. don't like it? then don't play it. there's a new COD game coming out in 40 minutes and another in an hour after that. again and again for the rest of time. so go p!ay that rehashed garbage. in the mean time Doom will be here reinforcing everything that made your bullshit game great.

I feel like they give the multiplayer way too little credit. It's a really fun, frenetic shooter imo - running around like a maniac with a shotgun is pretty great, with the way you need to continually pick up health and armor, try to keep control over the demon spawns and just stay alive as long as possible. I'm really liking MP so far. :)

I did the same thing as Dan. I just assumed getting the other upgrade for a weapon meant swapping it out entirely and I had to stick with that mod until the next opportunity to switch. Only I'm a lot further into the game. Now I'm tempted to just carry on not getting the other mods for the sake of habit.

I think the gameplay would improve if they maybe made the melee kill opportunity something like an 85% chance to happen but drop slightly more health. That way you're not doing it as often, but you still get your health back from it. The only downside is that you might die from not getting that chance melee kill to trigger.

This game reminds me of Halo a bit, and the guns look like they copied them straight out of the new Wolfenstein games. Overall though it doesn't really look like DOOM to me and the melee kill/health drop is bound to get annoying. Looks better than I thought it would though, and at least your movement speed is a little faster than other FPS.

+The Stowaway The environment design of the industrial areas and some of the weapons is very reminiscent of the style used in Halo 4. But even back then the art styles of space marine shooters were similar because everyone was inspired by Aliens.
