Really loved the pike story . What a monster ! I've fished all over Scotland in some of the big Lochs and my best is 26lb 4oz. Kudos to you on a wonderful catch and only on 2lb line . Superb angling and a special memory to treasure . Thanks for all your great videos this year. Have a brilliant Xmas

Kev green, what a legend. Just pulled out the Haynes manual I got as a kid I didn't realise it was you on the front!

@@gedainscough9105 Hi Ged, Kev was a top bloke and much missed. I had the pleasure of working with Kev on a few features and a Spring Tench episode for IYCF TV which was shown on Discovery Shed a few times. That Haynes cover shot came from a feature we did on the Crucian at Bury Hill Fishery. I did not know at the time Kev was going to use that photo for the front cover until he sent me a signed message copy of the book. A nice surprise and a honour that was. Have a great Christmas 👍🎣🐟

@fishingtailfilms he did alot for the fishing industry and helped good anglers like yourself to get good information and tips out to us, very inspirational when I was young.

Good video plenty of good information. I went perch fishing the other day ended up with a nice common of 13lb 3oz on a lob worm. 👍🎣🐟

@@deansshootingandfishingham8275 Thank you Dean, I also manage to hook and land a few carp when perch fishing. Seems most species love a lobworm. Good luck on your next session and well done on landing the carp on perch tackle 👍

Hi Russ I am probably about 10 years older than you but like yourself I used to fish the Lee (as I lived in Walthamstow) a lot back in the 60's & 70's at Broxbourne, Cheshunt and the channel at Waltham Abbey. Great story about the pike, what a fish . I once caught 2 chub of 4.5lb and 5lb trotting a dead bait (sprat) for pike along that same stretch of the channel at Waltham Abbey. Merry Christmas % tight lines mate.

@@BarryGee-x5z Hi Barry, they were good days fishing those stretches. I loved fishing Waltham Abbey and Cheshunt in particular, always good for plenty of bites. Amazing what the chub will take when hungry enough. Merry Christmas 👍🎣🐟

What another great watch russ. Live the pike story, can imagine youve got more great memorys of unexpected fish. Have a lovely christmas and new mate and look forward as always on your next one. Just want to mention last week live baiting for perch i caught a 5.08lb bream last cast on a live bait roach. Well shocked but happy with that. Ive heard of bream caught on lures by pike anglers as well. But id loved your pike on maggots all day lol.

@@mrbtboydify Thanks Barry, I certainly have a few stories from over the years. I once had a bream whilst zander fishing using hair rigged Roach tails, was not expecting that plus a 20lbs plus mirror on the same bait. Have a great Christmas and thanks for supporting the channel. Russ 👍🎣🐟

Hi Russ, in my teen's, I'd often catch Minnows by accident at Roundhay Park Lake in Leeds, flick it back out, & catch a Perch straight away. Have you tried using "Whitebait" from the Supermarket as an alternative to Minnows ? they are about the same size & saves, killing minnows, for those averse to "Livebaiting".
@fishingtailfilms3 күн бұрын
@@felgate11 Hi Martin, I have eaten whitebait but not used it but I will give them a try as like you say same size as the minnow. I will let you know if I have any joy with them 👍🐟🎣
