What you said about Daboll and how this situation is unfair to him is exactly what I’ve been thinking and have been struggling to put into words. I want to clip that section so all other Giants content creators can dissect it. It’s an idea I’ve had for a while now and also a narrative that not enough people are pushing. I really think daboll is the man for the job and Schoen too but other content creators and twitter pages are calling for heads to roll. What I got from hard knocks was that this year they wanted to give Daniel Jones a fair chance after investing in the OLine and some weapons. It seems like the plan all along was to let Daniel Jones start up until the bye and evaluate during the bye. I don’t think they’re just now realizing he’s bad.

With the DJ injury clause applying to locker room // workout injuries the Giants should not keep DJ on the roster taking up a roster spot of a developmental player. I'd like to see Turbo Miller on the roster for the rest of the year. Preserving the 2025 season should be top priority and if DJ is injured our 2025 free agency opportunities go up in smoke...

I was so about to lose my sh*t on the Devito comments until you finished the thought and yes I had to agree. Either him or Lock would throw the ball where Jones holds it and can make the offense run better. Hell you guys could get under center and run it better then Jones. Now as to the hot seat with both of them. I think both are safe at least for next year and that part of it has to do with ownership and Mara needing to be treated like a child to eat his vegetables. After the playoff run, Mara was not going to let them do what they did in Buffalo and break it down. So keeping both Jones and Saquan was and edict from mount Mara. Joe's marching orders were find a way to get it done. Unfortunately that meant the robbery Jones's agent pulled off because Saquon wouldn't budge. That now brings us to this year and the company line of Jones giving us the best chance to win. This was again an appeasement of Mara, going back to the Manning years and McAdoo benching Eli for Smith and immediately looking like a fool for allowing it. So if you watch, Daboll's playcalling has been the offense he wants to run in spite of Jones so he has film to show it works if you give me the QB to run it. The line, the running game and the recievers all are getting it done. Finally the draft and FA choices. Mara is loyal and it took how long for Joe Schoen to actually fully assemble his scouting dept. Draft 1 was pretty much Gettleman's staff and year 2 was a half and half. Now year 3 these are all pretty much Joe's scouts and we see much better results in both draft and FA acquisitions. One of the other KZbin rs I watch calls the Giants a cut and paste team. He's not wrong. That is because it has taken this long for ownership to allow a more central idea to take control as opposed to make something out of the pieces we have. It's why I never put to much stock in hard knocks. I saw it for what it was. Theatre not just for HBO but giving Mara a way to save his own reputation by some of the things coming out being media fodder without being reality. Everyone goes back to George Young being one of the greatest GMs off Giants lore. Remember it took him 5 years to build a team and staff to have success and all while having to deal with making the Duke look like a king.

Fire everyone. I won’t be mad if we don’t. But I believe we should. It’s the only smart move. After the 7-2 start in 2022 we have won just 10 games! Our offense has been one of, if not the worst! We have gotten WORSE every year! And the 2022 season wasn’t even that good! Overpaying Danny Doofus for 15 touchdowns. And doubling down! Tripling down! Especially this season! Worst qb room. No competition! And knowing there’s an injury clause in that already horrible contract! The draft picks and trades have not been there! Everyone has been decent to mediocre save for a few select players. Misreading the market. Watching guys that we let walk FOR NOTHING ball out on other teams. Love, McKinney, and most of all Barkley who is with division rival! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! There’s also the weird mismanagement of player injuries. This really all started way back in 2022 when Daboll allowed Jackson to return punts. There are other examples of this like the Gano situation and not having a kicker ready to go. Don’t get me started on the clown show that transpired last season between Daboll and Martindale. So embarrassing. And Hard Knocks was the worst thing to happen to Schoen. Showed how clueless and pompous the man really is. He doesn’t know what he’s doing anymore than a kid fresh out of high school Blow it up! Lastly, I wanna speak about Daboll. I still think Daboll COULD HAVE been a great coach with a good quarterback and maybe he still will be one day. But with the clown show he was part of, dealing with injuries poorly, keeping players in when they shouldn’t, etc. he has a LOT to clean up. I mean, he’s the offense guy and we have never had a good offense! I know the talent and especially the qb has been bad but often there wasn’t even a pulse in our offense. The only saving grace with that is that we DO see Daniel Jones straight up missing wide open receivers. Even back in 2022. Brett Kollman expertly pointed out how EVERY WEEK Daniel Jones would refuse to push the ball and the result was always a turnover or a short gain(typically a qb run) that could have gone for touchdowns instead. But yea, I still believe he could have been something with a quarterback. Once again Daniel Jones has potentially gotten another coach fired.
