Di notte Busan è un luna park di luci al neon. Di giorno ha un aspetto più normale, ma ben più vivace del Paese che abbiamo appena lasciato. Vicina solo apparentemente sfigata dei due pilastri economici e culturali della Cina e del Giappone, la Corea del Sud non è ancora molto nota in Occidente, e a torto. Se, oltre alle auto e all'elettronica, il K-pop, le serie tv e i film d’autore sudcoreani ne hanno fatto un'icona della cultura giovanile, c'è tantissimo da scoprire, a partire dalle affinità caratteriali con il Bel Paese. I sudcoreani sono generalmente estroversi e smaliziati ed appena arrivati provano addirittura ad imbrogliarci ! Ad un simile gesto, ritenuto persino immorale in Giappone, non eravamo più abituati! Ma noi siamo qui per il fantastico percorso ciclabile di oltre 630 km, in gran parte pianeggiante, che da Busan porta alla capitale Seoul seguendo 4 fiumi nel cuore verdissimo del paese, tra i tipici palazzoni illuminati al neon che spuntano dalla foresta tropicale, le zone industriali e gli splendidi templi arroccati sui monti. In Corea del Sud il campeggio libero è sicuro ed anche il cibo è irresistibile, particolarmente affine ai nostri gusti. Superate le paludi e sventati i tentati imbrogli, stasera riceviamo un'accoglienza quasi commovente nel giardino di una trattoria gestita da persone gentilissime e generose. Ma che bella sorpresa la Corea del Sud !
At night Busan is a carnival of neon lights. During the day the city looks more normal, albeit much more lively than Japan. South Korea may seem less trendy than the two economic and cultural giants of China and Japan, and it is not yet much popular in the West, but that is a pity. The South Korean car and electronic industry, K-pop, TV series and art films have made the country an icon of youth culture, but there is much more to discover, starting from the people's affinities with the Italians. South Koreans are generally extroverted and savvy and as soon as we arrive they even try to cheat us! We were no longer used to a behaviour which might be considered even immoral in Japan! But we are here for the fantastic cycle path of over 630 km, mostly running on the flat from Busan to the capital Seoul along 4 rivers into the forest green heart of the country, among the typical neon-lit buildings popping out from the rain forest, the industrial areas and the wonderful temples perched on the steep cliffs. In South Korea free camping is safe and the food is delicious, enjoyable by Italians. Today we had to cycle in a marsh and avoid a scam but tonight we received a very warm welcome in the garden of a restaurant run by kind and generous people. What a lovely surprise South Korea is!

Actually it was a fantastic adventure anyway. It should be very lovely with the autumn colours ... maybe we arrange another trip next year. I didn't know South Korea was such a bautiful bike ride. Thank you for your suggestion
