Hundreds of thousands watch footage of one animal tearing another apart while ignoring this beautiful performance. I think our society is becoming like the crowd in the Colosseum. This evening, for some reason, this piece of music by my fellow countryman came to mind and so I searched KZbin and found this utterly sublime version. It has brightened what has been, up to now, a poor day for me here in England.. Whenever the part beginning with "Make straight the way of the Lord" begins it never fails to move me deeply. This is a masterpiece of English music and this is a masterly performance. Thank you, God bless you, and may you all enjoy a blessed Christmas and New Year.
