As a Occupational Therapy Assistant student, and a sensory seeker, who is about to graduate, I love being shown different places to get stuff like this. Also, I was just trained on the Wilbarger Protocol, and it is so interesting how this works with sensory processing, and the effects it has on the kids. It’s probably been one of my favorite things that I have learned… and performed.

I told my mom over the phone the other night that I watch ASMR. She doesn’t really understand it but was really cool about it. I told her it helps with my anxiety and I could hear her start tapping on things to see what kind of sounds they make. Just wanted to share that I finally told someone I watch ASMR and it went well. Watching and enjoying ASMR is nothing to be ashamed of. Love to you all

HI! OB/GYN here! We use those surgical brushes you have just to clean our hands. The side with the bristles is for cleaning your nails, and then the sponge side for your fingers/hands/forearms. For cleaning the patient's skin pre-op, there are actually different sponge sticks we use (chlorhexidine prep sticks) - for example, to be used on a patient's abdomen just prior to starting a surgery. Wonderful video!

Gibi! I'm a licensed Occupational Therapist and thinks makes my heart so happy. These are ALL tools that an OT would use, depending on their clients/setting. I use some of the teethers with my clients (toddlers) all the time! And the brushes are definitely used for the Wilbarger protocol you talked about, so fascinating. There are all kinds of rules and patterns for that protocol for when you are brushing them on a person (what direction to go in, whether you can brush over bare skin or clothes, etc). So exciting to see little bits of our OT world out in an ASMR video!

Hey there I'm a US Army medic and in austere conditions we use those brushes for both our hands and our patients. Before certain minor surgical procedures we use them to get as close to sterile conditions as we can in the field, but most of ours are impregnated with Iodine. We also will use them in nuclear, biological, and chemical attacks to decontaminate patients before we can work on them. I hope you found that interesting. I love your content and it really helps to soothe my mind before sleep. Keep it up!

Shake the bag until the color is evenly disbursed. Then dump onto a paper towel and smooth into a thin layer to dry overnight. Repeat for each color you want and then combined in a zip lock bag the next morning. 🤷‍♀️

The doodley-type microfiber is called Chenille Microfiber. Also the reason you tend to feel negatively toward microfiber is because cheap microfiber feels very rough and catches the skin on your hand, with a very unpleasant dry/scratchy sensation. Idk what other ppl think, but I really liked the "calming body tappers" preferably if you pretended to tap on us but I also really like the slow tapping them together :)

Ok, I'm always interested in anything to do with ADHD. And I don't know what the technique with the brushes from the beginning is exactly but I've been "brushing" my whole body with a tangle teezer brush bc it feels SO GOOD and now I'm practically itching for that just thinking about it.

Occupational Therapists use these types of brushes for kids with tactile or proprioceptive needs. What my OT friend tells me is deep pressure brushing is calming and light brushing is excitatory in nature. Very cool stuff indeed!

Hospital Pharmacy Technician here. We use those exact surgical brushes to clean hands/forearms with Chlorhexidine before preparing IV medicine in our sterile room. Who knew they made such great tools for ASMR as well. This is my favorite video yet. 💤💤

I think these videos work 100% more for me when I actually watch them as opposed to putting it on to sleep, because it seems like Gibi herself is enjoying it and about to pass out in the middle of filming.

The surgical brush technique they use on little kids for sensory! I have some at home for my son. You apply pressure and the technique you just used with pulling on the joints helps him with over stimulation. It's very relaxing

As a speech-language pathologist, I’ve used brushing as a way to provide sensory input that assists the client’s brain in understanding where the body is in space (proprioception). That input is calming and can increase the ability to focus and maintain attention. Love the additional education you provided in this video, Gibi. Anything we can learn about tools and resources others need in order to better navigate life allows us to be more compassionate and understanding people.
