When I drill the wholes wider for the machine heads, I go from the back side and clamp a flat board on the logo side that way you won't chip the face.

Spotted multiple tells that it's not legit in the first minute and twenty seconds. I'm not going to list them off though, as it would only serve to help them improve their fraud. They are getting better at it though, regardless. I feel for people who end up buying these on the used market under the impression that they're buying an actual Gibson.

finish doesnt look right. The stamped SN is wrong for a new one, maybe a 1970s.(I think) style Serial number, pots clearly are not.

A '76 would've had wider pointy headstock "wings" on a 3pc maple neck and a different style Gibson logo. I see what they are going for. They are starting to incorporate closer to accurate specs, which can be neat or concerning depending on one's view. I think the responsibility is on the owner to etch "FAKE" or some indicator into the back of the headstock. 🤷🏼‍♂️

My 74 SG and and firebird have many humbuckers. And also I'm about had it with Gibson. My first bad experience was in 2001 with an Angus Young SG I had the neck set improperly. And the two Les Paul's the last ones I've had come with the PCB boards one of them the bridge pickup didn't work the another one came and the neck humbucker was dead. Whenever I order an epiphone which I usually find the same model in Epiphone they always come here set up pretty decent and they play even though the pickups are weaker than Gibson ones. I think my collection is going to stay where it's at and no more Gibsons and I'm replying old Japanese guitars from the 70s and 80s like I used to collect. I have lost thousands and thousands and thousands over the years with Gibsons. Peck my 1981 double cutaway made in Japan guitar plays better than about any guitar I have in my house. It has the original DiMarzio that came in it and it sounds really darn good. I have spent 40 years trying to love Gibson and they make it really hard I'm really the only two decent guitars I've had is a 74 SG and a firebird.. and that is the absolute truth. Now if you don't mind packing and shipping your guitar and saying it to Gibson and waiting 6 months or longer and getting something back could maybe even in worse shape and that's fine I guess? But I'm tired of it. Well I see my phone auto corrected all of that and improperly. Hopefully everybody understands what I'm talking about?

in the last few years some chibsons have gotten to the point wear ide buy one over an epiphone. the fret nibs arnt offered by epiphone and the price is alot friendlier. ive seen people have them tailor made for under 500$ with a one peace neck a solid top and back no veneers or scarf joints and they spray them with real nitro witch is a pretty good combo.

They are getting better and better with these guitars, I have experienced ones that sound gorgeous and with excellent build quality, I would like one they could guarantee that it didn't say Gibson on the top, people on YT have ordered them without the Gibson decal but got one anyway!
