One of my favorite country artists and guitar player, so under rated in both categories. One of the few modern countries artists that actually focus on musicality and occasional shredding rather than trap beats lol. And seems like such a nice guy who really knows his stuff. This is well deserved!

It's so nice seeing such a phenomenal guitar player genuinely excited about his instrument. I can't remember the last time I saw a pro at his level, both fame and talent (the latter being most important, IMO), acting like a kid at Christmas and saying playing was FUN! Awesome! Just awesome! 🤘🎸🎵

I found PAWN SHOP at a second hand store a few years back, Close to killer irony, but no cigar. I like country music a little bit, tend to have to go to heavier genre's to find great guitar players. The Brothers Osborne are one of the pleasant exceptions to that observation/ expectation. They have some good Rock and Roll in that DNA. Enjoyed another Gibson tv program, thanks.

I agree. My favorite guitar that I have ever played was a 2015 Gibson collectors choice #24 Nicky. I kick myself for letting that one get away. Such a smooth sounding Les Paul and playing Les Paul.

That Firebird is gorgeous! The color and the wear on it looks perfect to, and that’s not something I’ve ever said about a relic’d Gibson. I think Fender custom shop got a lot more attention with relics because they looked pretty much how they wear naturally. And the Gibson relics didn’t always come out looking very natural. But since the Murphy Lab started up and really hot their stride, these are tough to criticize anything that’s come from Gibson. Even the production line stuff, the Murphy Lab really makes Gibson a better guitar maker in general! Unfortunately as a lefty, that Firebird in left handed is basically a unicorn. Anything Gibson or Epiphone especially, you’re gonna be waiting awhile if you’re lefty and want say an Epiphone Les Paul Jr., and by awhile, I mean I’ve waited over a year for one and still nothing. And I’m not paying $1700 for a Gibson LPJr. with one pickup. I’ll stay patient and hope for the Epiphone that costs $450 new. That’s reasonable, the Gibson price for essentially the same guitar besides the name is not worth that price of $1700. $900 max is what I’d say that LPJr is worth from Gibson. Anything more then a grand is just selling the name. And some people don’t mind paying for that name! I’m not even able to consider it as a lefty though, so name brand isn’t super important to me. Although I have a Gibson Les Paul Standard, Fender Telecaster, Stratocaster, and am SG. I feel like those are kinda like the “must have” type of guitars. But there’s other companies out there to that make great instruments with new options and tones from different pickups. One company that comes to mind is Reverend. I know some people don’t like the aesthetics of them, but they have a guitar, the Double Agent OG, that’s the first guitar not from Gibson or Fender that I am really excited about having. Those are some really cool guitars with some really different pickups then you normally see with a humbucker bridge and a P90 neck. And it has this bass contour control that really makes that P90 sing!! It really is an innovative idea from them! And I like that. It isn’t overboard or stupid gimmicks like robo-tuners or something like that or something that sounds cool in theory, but when playing it doesn’t do much if anything. That Reverend with that bass contour/blend knob is really innovative and they sound amazing! Just my 2 cents…sorry for the long message.
@frantisca2 жыл бұрын
Yeah the bass contour on Reverends is nice, although nothing new: Schecter featured that on some of their Strats since 1985…!

I had a breed love retro shipped to me from Florida and the guy dropped it in a box no packing of any kind taped up the end of the box and dropped it off at FedEx....I knew my delivery guy pretty well and he was beside himself he and I just knew it would be caved in or the neck broken off..... But there wasn't a scratch on it!!!

I heard Tom say that different checking patterns is completely random,....but,....the guitars with the red iodine based stain seems to check more excessively and sometimes when you temper the nitro for that amber tone it checks more. It's truly an not so exact science.lol

One disagreement.. at 6:43. Great craftsmanship doesn’t just happen. It’s intentional. Same as crappy craftsmanship. Intentional. You either give a damn when you build something, or you don’t.

Stop it ,you guys are tempting us poor Musos with irresistable Guitars that as the Man said "What do I have to do to get one of these"? My 1sr Gibson was SG junior 196os with vibrato removed and it cost me £90. English pounds sir and to this day nothing sounds or feels like it but maybe these planks are the real thing just younger?
@maxpeck41542 жыл бұрын
Hey Gibson! Let us buy Maestro vibratos directly from you. I have a 2014 120th anniversary Firebird that would be perfect with a Maestro but all you can buy are vintage/used or a cheap knockoff. You can pretty much buy any part from Gibson except the maestro. Ridiculous.
@davidharding2002 жыл бұрын
Mmm. ‘Great craftsmanship’. Not sure I agree with that. I’m yet to find a new Gibson that isn’t full of fit and finish issues. Iconic yes. Great design, yep ok. Not sure that’s craftsmanship. Sounds great no doubt. But very disappointed with the quality Gibson continues to put out.
