I feel like I could hear that beauty from a mile away...she rings and sings a sweet tone!!

Wow, the rest of the story on my 1942 J45 Banner from Chris! That guitar took 17 days to get here because of a Wyoming snow storm. It is still lovingly played (volunteer) for folks who can't get out about 20 hours a week. I recall Chris really liked it. Me too. Gibson has so many different neck profiles that you have to try because they might work for you. That's been one of my issues with SJ-200s: a playable neck.

So you're saying J-200 necks are baseball bats?
@texhaines9957 Жыл бұрын
@@LegsON no, not all. They have different runs with "U"s and thick "C"s. There is one signature with a neck like on Les Paul.

Hide or protien glue takes another 12 to 16 hours to complete on that size guitar. I can hear a difference.

I think that's the best sounding Gibson I've heard in a very long time - and it 's more reasonably priced than I expected! The pickguard reminds me of the J-35: who does the bracing compare?
@HarryNicNicholas Жыл бұрын
that actually sounds pretty good, nice all round tones.

What causes the dark streak where the top panels meet in the center? I've seen it on a lot of Gibsons custom shop guitars. Inherent in the type of spruce, or the result of torrification, or something else?
@texhaines9957 Жыл бұрын
On mine, it's part of the sap wood.

It’s worth it. I’ve got a 36 AJ and hey people would pay a fortune for a boutique guitar. This is basically the same. Maybe more of a factory like setting but the craftsmanship is bar none. Not on every Gibson but these are great.

Can’t stop laughing during the girth and “under 5 inches - the guitar” - how many takes did your guys had to do that. I can see how you both were working hard not to LOL! 😅

Bias but... I've never really been blown away from a custom shop authentic reissue Gibson Acoustic. They don't really have the Gibson Magic like the old ones do. But... Martin on the other hand with their Authentic series ohh my... they nailed it!!!

It's not a jumbo guitar, it's a big dreadtought guitar. The jumbo guitar has a different shape
@FlagshipD28 Жыл бұрын
Which in the gibson lineup, is a jumbo. But the sj200 is a super jumbo.
@mojobrando Жыл бұрын
Dreadnaught is what Martin called there big guitar. Gibson being a different company chose to call them jumbos. Jumbo 45, jumpo 200 which was originally Super Jumbo 200. Since it was bigger than there jumbo design.
@erou_al_munciisocialiste766511 ай бұрын
@@mojobrando The sound is influenced by the shape of the guitar. You can name a Dreadnought and it's still a Dreadnought. An example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n2PHfaxto7CDpJo

@@erou_al_munciisocialiste7665 Well let me put it this way. You wouldn't call a phone built by Samsung an Iphone. When Martin decided to make their guitar shape after a large ship that was known as a dreadnaught. Gibson did not say heres our dreadnaught. They said here is our "jumbo", than they came out with jumbo 35, advanced jumbo, j-45, J-55, J-185, J-165 When in 1960 they stepped away from there slope shoulder shape and made a squareshoulder shape the called it a hummingbird or a dove. Somehow 80 years later people are calling everything by the Martin's branded name. Maybe 80 years in the future all smartphones will be called iphones but for those who know. We cringe when everyone says things like do you want a coke when referring to every soda product known to man.
