Hello! Great video but wanted to share that Gibson has done two custom thunderbirds historically. The 2001 blackbird for Nikki Sixx with iron cross inlays and the 2008/2012 limited release of maple top red thunderbirds with red x’s in the fretboard for Nikki Sixx

@asteinmann no I agree completely I do really like this and aware of his other basses. But other than his logo on the pick guard there’s no signature of his on it, and the pickups seem to be normal Thunderbird pickups.

Looks cool, reminds me of the Fender Aerodyne bass, with that black, high gloss finish. Always wanted a T-Bird bass, but hate, HATE that neck dive. Seems this one solves that problem? Wonder what the weight is?

I wish Gibson and Epiphone would install those Hipshot 3-point replacement bridges on all their T-birds and other basses that normally sport the standard 3-point bridge. Bought a Goth T-bird about a year and a half ago and I want to install one of those Hipshot bridges on it. The pros far outweigh the cons on it. Nice T-bird, this one. I remember seeing a dark red one advertised as well with the black a while back. Is that still coming out?

Out of curiosity, what does everyone prefer a P-Bass or the Thunderbird? I am a new bass player and I play with a pick. I want a more rumble like sound in my bass playing. My favorite bass player is Nick Chaplin (from Slowdive)

Ah yes, a "signature" bass what Gene has apparently used on one gig. As much I have always liked KISS (even went to see them live in 2008) , Gene has always been a huge prick. I guess even he got some fans left who are willing to play nearly 3k for that.
