Spoken like a true ignoramus. If you ever played a Murphy les Paul compared to a studio you’d instantly know the difference You’re the guy that tries to convince himself that his epiphone is just as good bc you can’t afford one. Not being about to afford one is fine. Bashing bc you can isn’t. It’s not

No need to be insulting - I think the reality is that there is a sweet spot between an affordable instrument and an absurdly expensive one, and this is where the clever money goes in terms of sonic performance (not talking about collectibility or resale value etc). The Studio was designed to be sonically indistinguishable from a Standard while dispensing with some of the visual frills. There’s nothing wrong with that philosophy if it works for the professional musician. It may also be a sound choice in terms of taking to the road and playing the thing live night after night - I know I would not want to do that with an instrument I couldn’t afford to break etc Incidentally, a 1959 sunburst standard was around $300 with a case, which equates to roughly $3100 in today’s money. So, you’re telling me that a $20k Murphy Les Paul is the only way to get a sonically comparable instrument? I think they saw you coming, keep drinking the cool aid. Regards, the ignoramus 🙄
