I’m proud of you dude. You were gonna half ass it & not take the hardware off the front so you could buff it properly, but your conscience got the best of you! I knew you’d do the right thing! 😅

I’m a newer subscriber and when you were talking about the caps I was like 👀.. then I was relieved when I realized you were being sarcastic. I don’t know your humor yet. Ha! Great work!

Nice video to relax and unwind to. Wish I had a teacher like you to walk me through getting comfortable working on guitars. As a musician who plays mostly on the weekends, grabs his checks and has so much free time in the week, I’m itching to learn. Only thing really stopping is I need the proper tools and I keep spending all my money on guitars. Lol Maybe once I’m done purchasing my gold top I’ll start getting some proper tools. Well done video

It's always neat to watch what others put in their guitars. Frankly, I never heard of Black Cat pickups until today, but this video taught me something new (seems like he's got some rockstars that go to him for work too)! Happy Holidays!!

on Gibson pickups they denote neck pup with an R. Bridge with a T. Black cat guitar pickups info says they're from Georgetown, MA.

I know it's none of my business but you really shouldn't use power tool's to tighten up screws because it can Crack the lacquer , i just bought a Gibson explorer and it had cracks coming from the pickup surrounds because of power tool's

He has talked about this in previous videos. I dont remember which video it was or the exact quote. But hes been doing this for a long time, knows what hes doing, is careful and it saves him a lot of time.

How do you know it was from someone using a power tool? Did you see them do it or are you assuming that's what happened?
@brettbunke909621 күн бұрын
Going to be a bit of a rant here and it’s nothing towards you sir so please don’t take it that way . Gibson and Fender sadly now are just huge companies who don’t care at all about what they put out they only care about $ and getting by on name alone both there quality control is almost nonexistent these days and yes you have to be very careful with power tools . The Gorilla has been using power tools on my guitars for years and no issues whatsoever. He’s got the Bosch touch!

Ceramic capacitors can be a little microphonic, especially the surface mount types, all other dielectrics will be pretty much the same as far as audio frequencies are concerned. The ceramic material is a type of high dielectric constant piezo type material. How do I know? I have heard them squeak when subjected to rapid voltage changes and seen the oscilloscope traces when they are tapped while having a d.c. voltage across them. Keep up the good work :)

You do know that you could have just bought gold covers from Seymour Duncan and put them on the pickups. It would have been a lot cheaper, all other things being equal.

People put nice caps in BECAUSE THEY HOLD THERE VALUE LONGER!! Wow, i seriously can't believe you don't realize that... Perhaps you'll be the kind of person who recognizes they're wrong and learn, or not... Nonetheless, I've watched enough of your videos to know I would never let you touch one of my instruments. Good day, sir!
