Last week was my dad's birthday. He turned 70 and I wanted to make it special for him by getting him a Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s Gold Top with P90 pick ups. This was a the exact guitar (color, model and pick ups) my grandfather bought my dad as a gift during his blooming music career during the 70s. Unfortunately it got burned in a fire at night club on an tragic night in 1974. I've been wanting to get him to guitar for a long time and finally got to do so. In this video I surprise him with this guitar on his 70th birthday! I hope you enjoy and thanks for watching! Please like the video and subscribe to my channel! Thank you!

My father recently passed away. For his 80th birthday I had his father's guitar restored. it had been in pieces since World War II and I had been holding on to it for over 50 years. I put the guitar in my case and ask him to open it telling him I had a string buzzing and I wanted him to check it out. He open the guitar case and stood in shock in silence a tear ran down his my great-grandfather's name was Charlie. he looked up and said Charlie I want you to see what my boy done for me. It was a greatest father-son moment ever

How can they justify that? BTW I own a Gibson Les Paul Studio, 50s Tribute with P90s, a couple of dudes I know told me I could've gotten a better guitar from other guitar makers for the almost 1 grand I paid for mine for hundreds less, that I basically overpaid for having the Gibson logo on the headstock. I have 4 Les Paul’s amongst other guitars , I turn 70 in 3 years, they were expensive, they are beautiful , and sound amazing. I wanted them since I was in high school ! I was able to purchase the first one in my forties. You know the story, the kids are raised and out on their own, so I ( dad) can finally buy something that I have dreamt about for 30 years. Now I’m nearing the end of life and my wife wants me to thin out my possessions. It makes sense kinda. “ when are you going to get rid of your guitars “, she asks… I said maybe when I turn 70 ? Seeing this , I’m recalculating. I play them 1-4 hours a day, everyday, they don’t collect dust…. Great job, God Bless.🎉

He was concerned about how much it cost. But his happiness was priceless. A son appreciating his dad is a gift of its own. That is probably his most prized possession now. Not only because it's a replica of a Gibson he had in his heyday, but because it was gifted by his son. I'm sure it'll be passed on as a family heirloom.
