you just cant retain the nib if you are replacing worn fret, because the new frets will sit higher then the nib at the edge and any attempt to slope the new frets to the old nibs will make it easy for the string to slip off the edge. good choice there. replacing the whole neck binding to get new nibs are an expansive option too.

Those frets didnt look that low. Customer request to have a thicker fret wire or something? Im guessing that was a 90s Les Paul?

That's why you check it, so you can lower it. Can't remember the year, I've done it a month ago.

@@Antonio-re9dq I am the owner! Wtf man, look at the guitar. Headstock broken twice, neck refin, body is relic, tuners and pickup changed…who fuckin cares about some already worn plastic nibs? Are you the guy who PLAYS a guitar or the one who just look at it in its case?
