It’s awesome that Gibson made the Slash model for us southpaws!!! As a teenager, l always associated the Les Paul with Slash (and later on with Jimmy Page after I discovered Led Zeppelin 😎). Although I didn’t try one at Southpaw Guitars, there was something intriguing about it! Dig the tones and the overall vibes of this LP. Shane you should do a poll on whether you should get this LP!😂😂😂 It’s not much more than a regular 50s!! 😁😁 Cheers!🎸🎸👍🏾

Definitely out of my price comfort zone. (Then there's the whole Lawsuit Video which caused me to vow I'll never purchase another guitar with Gibson on the headstock. I'm not saying they may not have had a valid complaint. It is all about how they went about it. They totally alienated most of those I know with that wonderful idea of that infamous lawsuit video.) Though the Tweed without the dirt I'm getting more of a Billy Gibbons thing than Slash, with the OD it's definitely Slash. They are nice Les Pauls, I don't know how I think about the pickups though. I like the clarity but I think the output might be a bit too much for my taste. However If you're playing more straight out rock you probably couldn't do much better unless you're playing metal, but personally I don't think I'd be looking at Les Pauls if I were playing that genre. I might be mistaken, but weren't the earlier signature Slash models chambered with slim necks? I know at a certain point over the years I was reading he was going with the fatter 58 profiles and solid non chambered bodies and thinking that was a new thing for them.

Does anyone have any idea how this compares to the Epiphone version? I'm curious because Shane didn't seem to care for the neck pickup on the Epi 60s version and I believe he had the same complaint for the Gibson Les Paul tribute. Both the Gibson and the Epiphone say custom Alnico II so it comes down to Burst Bucker vs ProBucker.

For $3000 or so dollars, the sound of this guitar is either for you or it is not; some players would find the sound just right for them while the other half of players would find it not for them. After seeing this video, it is not for me. Thank you for helping me decide. When you look at a guitar this expensive, you need to make absolutely sure it is for you before you buy. This is a guitar for a tone monster type of player; no shredders or melodic metal players allowed. Tom Sisson
