It’s too bad they didn’t back up that bark by releasing a phaser to fill that market like the Mr O did-and still does. It would be nice to see them release the modulation/filter circuits that they made famous, rather than rolling the dice on yet another $150 chorus and delay pedal(efx loop with trimpot mix would have been cool). For production purposes, I understand the reason for internal trim pots. But from a consumer end, it doesn't move me. I don't want to have to pull a pedal and unscrew the back to adjust mod and rate sensitivity (on the delay). They're integral to the versatility of the pedal. Andy did a great job on these, but the design leaves me cold, unfortunately. Put the controls on top or don't put them in. Just my opinion, YMMV.

No I took back one of those crazy analog delays with all the whacky controls for this because I just wanted something I can play a clean guitar with that does have a good sound for live or recording, and with somewhat an echoplex quality to it. Helps me keep focused but I appreciate the other types of more crazy and advanced delay units too. I think itthis one does the repeats very good and the modulation sounds nice to my ear. I like the vintage flair of these, they also seem to play well together. It's like we're going back further to the roots, time to re-imagine the wheel I suppose? But it wants songs not just noodling and turning knobs. That's what inspires me with this line I guess.

@DefconMaster2 жыл бұрын
@@peteytwofinger That's not really the issue here. Surface mount components are functionally the same as through-hole components and it's perfectly possible to use them in analog circuits, which these pedals certainly are. And tubes have nothing to do with any of this, as none of Maestro's effects have ever had tubes besides the very early Echoplexes AFAIK. No, my issue is that rather than give us modernized reissues of their classic effects, many of which are highly sought-after, they instead gave us this fairly generic lineup of inoffensive staples that have nothing in common with the Maestro of old besides the logo.
