Thanks, Dave. After watching you go through the set-ups, it's finally sinking in. Logical and repeatable, rather than the random goocherie I did before.

Just out of curiosity - would it be suitable to top wrap the explorer to get that tail bar down? Understand that top wrapping will wear down the tail-bar but damn that tail bar is high!

The cause of the strings hitting the back of the bridge is because the bridge on this guitar is 13mm originally the ABR was like 10mm or something, the tailpiece was designed for 10mm, design flaw is it hits the bridge like that.

@dirtmagirt58713 жыл бұрын
@@zeroman614 Not at all lol, but you would hope their rep leaks into their lower level products. And it wasn't an issue of playability the neck became warped or the truss rod was broken, tried to get it fixed and even they couldn't do anything about it. It was a higher end squier as well. It was a limited edition.

I get boiled/ refined linseed oil at Michael's, a huge chain of craft supply stores. One issue I ran into- if you don't wipe down the top of the little plastic bottle before you replace the cap it is very difficult to take the child & adult-proof cap off the next time. It's months or even a year before I oil the necks, my main bass a little more often.

Dave you are right the first thing I look at is the stop bar and neck straightness on Gibsons so many of them have poor neck angles
@Riverdeepnwide3 жыл бұрын
Ricky how do you find the fit in cases with differing neck angles? I found a Chinese case for my SG which fits better than the Gibson case, it has more even support under the body and neck and some free space around the headstock instead of bottoming out at the serial number. 🤷🏼♂️ It must drive the case manufacturers nuts.

If it’s a Nashville the intonation screws should be in the stop tail side, if it’s an Abr1 the screws should be on the pick up side.
