Bought one of these after auditioning roughly a dozen 335s at the three local Guitar Centers and I've never looked back. Every bit as good as a Gibson, except for the name on the headstock.

Just went through the same this weekend. I have a 58 reissue les paul and love gibson to death but I played numerous 335s and heritage h535 in store and this guitar was just pure magic from the first chord

The new sunburst finish is one of the best-looking guitars at the $2k range I have seen. I have an upgraded T386 (whose pickup swap cost me untold hours of my life) and I’m thinking of selling it to fund the T59v for the finish alone.

I've loved Eastmans since I first picked one up 10ish years ago. A LMS had pulled in a shipment and IIRC, had one of the Eastman reps there at the time. I've since played their LP clone. All of them were amazing. My ONLY critique for me was the necks were all just a little too thick/wide for my comfort. Otherwise, all were super nice to play.

I love the wider nut width! As a classical guitar player it’s a lot more comfortable for me:)

Great and insightful video - thank you! Do you know if the T59/V comes with 50’s wiring? Can’t find an answer anywhere! 😊

During my research I seem to remember finding that it does have 50s wiring although I am having trouble finding that again. I just plugged it in, and the tone knob does affect the volume a bit so that would suggest 50s wiring. Hope that helps

Mine is from 2022 and it definitely has 50s wiring.

I wish Gibson cared enough to be nervous. Peerless has been around a long time, too.

As if Gibson, the iconic guitar company for how many years would be nervous by a knock off version of a 335 by Eastman. Please. They haven’t even cared about the whole backlash over Gibson shaped headstock stamped with epiphone on a gold les paul and charging stupid money for it.

I just wish eastman would use mahogany necks like a really 335 does . They keep the formula correct on there les pauls

I have the t185mx which does have a mahogany neck

Audibly a too low action job for the style of samples played. Also pickup hight on the neck sounds less than ideal to my ears. I'd try a wee bit higher action, maybe 1/4mm to 1/2mm higher, and probably round wound Pure Nickel Classic Pyramids instead of the Super Slinkies. That should get rid of the metallic, springy sound. Yeah, to an extent that's a matter of taste, but with such low action it simply isn't possible for any guitar to live up to its potential and sound fully open. Not a problem (it actually helps) with high and very high gain music, but for the style of the samples, it is detrimental.

If you were in the market for a hollow body why did you get a semi? I got the t64 with bigsby..nicest guitar iv ever played..an Iv had vintage gibsons. Your guitar's a looker by the way..love the amber colour....enjoy 😊

Slip of the tongue, meant to say semi hollow. I like overdrive and fuzz so fully hollow tends to feedback. Thanks! Im really enjoying it

Long Neck Tenon?…….where?
@boechlerguitarsandrepair7 ай бұрын
The pickup route does not quite go deep enough to show it, I had a pic that shows the construction at one point, but I cant seem to find it

Epiphone ES-355 beats this hands down, it even has Gibson custom shop custombuckers. Epiphone is also half the price of this guitar.
@boechlerguitarsandrepairАй бұрын
Eastman's are hand built in a custom shop. This guitar has high end materials and hardware (gotoh hardware, ebony board, real mother of pearl, hand rubbed finish, long neck tenon, etc.) Seymour Duncan antiquities are fantastic as well. The new Epiphone's are great, but its still a factory made high production guitar. This is on another level.
@adrianguggisberg3656Ай бұрын
What? Those new Epiphones are great value for price, but they are not even comparable to this overall. They sound great tho, thanks to the Custombuckers, which just might be the best humbucking pickup made for the past 60-ish years.
