I watch A LOT of GK videos...just ran across this, and I must say that Firebird and Greg are a match made in heaven. I know he's a Master of the Telecaster, and I've heard him play hundreds of different guitars (well, almost), but that Firebird has a somethin'-somethin' that brings out the best...IMHO
@Musicman40010077 жыл бұрын
Hi Greg, I bought this exact guitar 4 weeks ago and I agree with u the Firebird is not to be trifled with. What a great rock n roll machine. And I want to add that I fully enjoy your videos and the the things u say r truly soooo funny that I enjoy watching your videos immensely. And your licks r truly inspirational...u sir r a true Rock God!

By far the best, funniest guy, best player and coolest cat reviewing anything online. The only bird fieryerer, yes, that's a word, is my Thanksgiving turkey that I deep fry...i like to call it my fryery bird. It just doesn't sound as rockin and it will rot if I let it sit too long.

I realize this is a super-old post but the number of channels that claim this thing was mini-humbuckers is nuts. I would have thought Greg wouldn't have made that mistake. Minis use pole pieces and are basically just small humbuckers. Firebird pickups use blades and sound closer to a P90 than a humbucker or single coil.

Thanks for the video I'm 7 years behind though I own the 2017 firebird 5 in the vintage sunburst I probably the same guitar that you're playing here I don't know what color you are guitar is but it came invented fireworks vintage starburst and it came and I think Pelham Blue get through that guitar Justice because you're my mother ever on the guitar Greg and one other thing that I have to say you gave a room back on the guitar it's not a sweet line that that's three times as much plies baby the mini humbuckers are also hotter than a furnace because the ceramic and when I called the Gibson on it to get the specs they said that the neck pickup the output was I think 1717 and the bridge pickup was 25 102 you know that but I'm pretty sure that's what they told me sincerely David Raphael AKA Bob the flying pigeon guitarist and Allen Collins amazing but my favorite guitarist is or was Johnny Winter when I saw the 72 album still alive and well in 1973 as a young kid I fell in love with the Johnny Wilson something like 44 years but I finally pulled the trigger on it and I paid $1,340 brand new out the door to my house for that guitar cheaper than the new episode custom shop series firebird quite a bit cheaper

The seam where the body is glued together (in line with the top of the pickguard) is distracting and makes this axe look odd. I love Gibson and the Firebird but this one should have been bonded together more smoothly. Nit picky? Not for the price. Still sounds good and Greg is a mad man, of course.
