Tea towel tucked in to your belt or pant line is what I use to wash hands of fish slime and cover over a bird's eyes which settles them when needing to remove a hook, normally from its tongue. I've never been bitten and I've caught a few over the years. Even took off my jacket one time while reeling it in to throw over it and put it in darkness, I didn't put it back on afterwards but it's less stressful for the bird 😉

I love that net mate - so much better seeing fish swim off with their scales intact and not having to be dragged up the oysters, also allows you to target more sportfish where the gaff isn't used every time. definitely one of your best vids bro keep it up yew👌👌

Hey Gido, You have done the typical and fly setups with great fishes...! What about one of these day you do a minimalist setup? like hand lines fishing..! Dude, excellent vid!!! Some days you just get lucky and you’re on. But the thing about luck is it avails itself to those who open themselves to it. You clearly do with climbing the cliffs, your gear, time and work investment, ethics and venturing where others hesitate to tread to bring us this excellent content. I feel like I’m right there with you. I used to live in Washington state and fished extensively. Some days I got skunked and others I’d have a hundred salmon day hiking in miles and working for it. I never complained about zero fish nor bragged about big fish days. It’s what the world avails to you-even to the point of getting chewed when de-hooking birds. I’d never trade the good nor bad for anything. Good on ya and thanks for taking me along. Tight lines.
