Thank you in advance, and I wish you much success, the quality of your videos is tremendous!!

I put pilchards in it. They are an oily baitfish here. When targeting groper I used crushed rock crabs. Any fish scraps from something like a tuna or mackerel would work the same. Or whatever the local baitfish is 👍🏼

Gido I tried cooking salmon a few different ways and I still couldn’t find a way of liking them until a young fellow at a wharf I was fishing on told me how he did it and said they love them , his methods which I tried was awesome , it takes away that strong salmon flavour people don’t like , anyway in a fry pan put milk In it and cook the salmon in the milk , about a Centermeter or 2 in the pan and cook it till it’s done , it’s the only way I eat them now give it a try at home if you haven’t done it that way before .

make sure to trim off all of that red flesh, it's where the bitter/fishy flavour is mostly coming from and there's a lot more of it in older fish

Samon are great fillet one side and grill over coals. Skin if you don't like the strong flavor. Grill with bacon even better.
@fishmut6 ай бұрын
I’ll give the bacon a go with the ol salmon bud , I usually cook fillets of salmon in milk in the fry pan , about a centimetre or two of milk in the pan , it takes that salmon harsh taste away and the fish is moist to eat , very nice if you haven’t tried it , i recommend to give it a go , I’ll try the bacon method lol , everything taste great with bacon lol.
@dan23046 ай бұрын
@@fishmut Folding wire grill with a strip of bacon on the cut side over hardwood coals. Some don't like the strong flavor of the oil in the skin, but if you cook it, skin on, DO Not burn the skin. I eat most sea food and mullet and salmon are favorites. There is always a way to get the best out of most fish. Sweep on the other hand not so much.

You need an odorant spray for when those big grouper come around and they're really picky fish sturgeon in the bay area. My whole life WD-40 worked wonders, but when we're fishing in the lake for bass, we use crawdad and shiner spray or just crawdad spray. The fish can't resist you might wanna pick up a can for those days when the fisher being stubborn and just looking at your lure. i've had bass hang onto a piece of meat and fight me all the way to the boat, not letting go of it till I actually lifted them out of the water.

Holy crap. That is the most amazing groper on fly - great work! You're lucky over in the West, we've been banned for fishing for them (Eastern Blues) here in NSW. Used to be my favourite species to target off the rocks. Thanks for another great video.
@craigfrith70246 ай бұрын
Banned from catching and killing them on line nothing says you can’t catch and release them which is what I continue to do.
@gidosfishingadventures6 ай бұрын
Yes I heard about that and signed against it as it had nothing to do with science. Can’t believe they can just change a law like that virtually overnight with no actual reasoning. Glad you enjoyed the vid and hope they will allow fishing for them over east again soon

@@craigfrith7024 That's interesting - good for you. I always released the males and bigger females but loved to fish for the 2 to 5 kilo females for food. So common (as you would know) and very few people target them. It's not just being denied this - one of the great pleasures in my life - by a government ,but also what it might mean for other species in future.
@craigfrith70246 ай бұрын
@@pigsandapples It’s just the beginning mate you may have noticed what’s been going on over the last few years with regard to losing our rights. They’re a non commercial species and are far from in decline no kidding I’ve caught and released up to 15/20 a day depending what ledges I fish.
