I'm not sure how to play honest neutral vs Blanka tbh. His crouching medium punch (2MP) gives me a lot of trouble. It's big, fast, drive cancellable and it beats stand fierce (5HP) armour. It's too fast for me to press a button second in a lot of ranges, which makes me press buttons first a lot more. So I try to use crouching/standing medium kick and medium punch but the issue is that these buttons are vulnerable to drive impact. I have tried to use my lights but they do so little damage and excepted perhaps light kick, their range is still not great vs that move. Am I not playing it correctly? Should I be walking them down instead of contesting the move? I can't seem to have any success versus my training partner who is consistent with the anti-airs and the drive rush checks. Any and all tips would be appreciated.

Keep using your lights and either doing mixes off them or just taking the guaranteed damage, you don’t need to always be doing a billion damage as gief, I like to use space out wheel kick against blanka a lot cuz they hold down back a lot, and focus on your reactions to jump ins or blanka balls (ex lariat on heavy balls, lights on light balls), you should start seeing some improvments.
