I was very surprised to see that you used Nelson Waters when I first started watching you a couple years ago. The very first hog waters I used were Nelson Waters. That was in the early '80s. I lived just 10 minutes north of cedar rapids. It was easy to access the parts. Only horse owners in my area were using them, not livestock owners such as me. I liked them. And I, also have worked on them in very cold weather. Ha!

Great video. If your dad wasn't a farmer he would make a good teacher. All the best 🇬🇧.

Good idea on sitting the drinking cup into the wet concrete. I'm sure it looks better than silicone and there's no need to reapply sealant if/when it falls off. Those waterer's seem like a really slick setup!

You are proactive to do this in warm weather, Our Behlen fountain froze up the other day at 18 below. Usually a bucket of hot water gets the valve open. Not this time, had to open the front door and get out our heat gun. Our patient cattle thought they were dying of dehydration and wanted to be first in line to get a drink. Always a challenge; that's farming in the winter!

We fed out 150 head of beef steers and all we ever used was Nelson Waterers. Always felt they were the best bang for the buck.

That’s a pretty slick watering system. I did hear Randy Travis song mentioned from George.

Post a gag reel with bloopers when the cows will absolutely not give a chance to film normal content (St. Bernard nose as well). It would be hilarious behind the scenes footage. Thank you so much for your content..❤

I inherited several of these nelson waterers 24 yrs ago with my farm. None are in use today and you couldn't pay me to put one in.

We had a few of them on our farm when I was growing up and we had a lot of trouble w/ them. They'd either not shut off, not fill, or freeze. Also, the cows LOVED to play in them and slosh water all over the floor.

You could always just plop a rag over that hole of no return to prevent accidental loss of tools/screws/etc while you're doing the work.
