Let’s get to know Trinity Dairy better! My Dad and I took the time to head up north to visit with Trinity Dairy! There were tons of questions and answers that day. Many stories were shared and many laughs were had. As my Dad would say, “we were solving the word’s problems”. Huge thank you to Alan, Jennifer, and the rest of their family for visiting with us, it was great to meet everyone. Make sure to check them out on KZbin, Facebook, and Instagram @Trinity Dairy

You folk are cut from the same stock as Trinity Dairy! I was Allen and Jennifer’s DHIA tester for 4 years and enjoyed them tremendously ! The kids are great to have around! It usually took us 2 hrs because of all the gabbing and laughter! Several years later and we are still friends! Thanks for your video and spending time together with this God filled family! I love your sign you gifted to them! I plan to watch more of your videos!

Nice! I watch you both! Love it!! We use to make tunnels in the hay! My cousins were up and we were all going thru the tunnels, and my oldest cousin didn't know where he was, so he lights a match! Wonder he didn't burn the barn down! You guys are the best!! A lot of the wide front ends were Schwartz. Put molasses on any hay, and the cows will eat it and want more!

Interesting on the narrow front tractors, my guess is for row cultivators, it’s much simpler to see the rows when the cultivators is on the front. Before the wide spread use of herbicides all crops was cultivated. In fact when Dad dairy farmed his silage crop was sorghum because of lots of Johnson grass the farm had when he purchased it. My uncle who dairy farmed was a corn silage guy. When I was a kid all the corn was cultivated with a narrow front WD45 Allis with 2 row mounted cultivators

Well as I have said before raising kids on a farm is the best thing anyone could do. I have no regrets at all raising my kids on the farm they all turned out very well. I am old enough to be well let's just say I am an old man lol. The farm teaches kid so much about life that they will get no place else. The small farms are slowly being forced out of business and that so sad.

Really, really enjoyed this one. You have given me another channel to watch. It is so nice to see people who enjoy their life as it is. That is the way I was raised. And my faith has so much to do with my life that it is great to see others who aren't afraid to share theirs. I worked for a company for a couple of years originally named Michigan Animal Breeder's (I was in the accounting area). At that time they were called NorthStar Co-op. I left there in 2002 and haven't really kept in touch with them. I checked it out just now and think they may be under a different name now. Anyway thanks for the opportunity to enjoy a different channel. Looks like we may be hit by anything from a Blizzard to windy with some snow. (It all depends on the direction it goes in.) I wish you all a Very special Merry Christmas.

My wife and I have had the privilege of raising our 4 girls on a 40 acre 50 cow dairy here in south central Illinois. We are the last dairy in our township. Only 4 left in our county. The day is coming when no one will pick up our milk because of our small size and lack of enough other dairies close by.....But, one of the best places to raise a family. I wouldn't trade the past 25 years on the farm for a million dollars..... Loved this video with Trinity Dairy. Hope to see more videos of you both together. Thanks guys.

My grandpa had 30 cows when on his dad's farm as a kid. He had half Guernsey and half Holstein he said by the time he graduated they had all Holstein because the Guernsey were finicky but he said there was a Guernsey they had that was big and lived to be 18. Now we milk 450 cows in robots. We have 1 gu/ho x which is nice looking from gu446. But I'm diehard Ayrshire and red Holstein

Farmall F20 had wide front option. But they where only sold in Southern Idiana area. The tricycle front end was for the mounted cultivators. Plus a tricycle was originally ment to replace the horse. So you are dealing with small fields. So the turning radius would be critical to move around in those small fields.

I think Dad's right about narrow fronts. People see the wide front end and think it's more stable, but they forget that the axle is mounted to a pivot under the center of the tractor. So the tractor will pivot around the center regardless of whether it's a narrow or wide front. As I understand it, narrow fronts became popular for cultivating row crops before herbicides became common place. Enjoyed the video, and I'm a fan of the 1066 also. 👍

grandpa bought a brand new oliver 66 1952 grandmother wouldn't let him use it till the wide front was installed. I used a narrow front till I was 26 its definitely different advantages and disadvantages to both the wide front doesn't turn as short but in my experience the wide front is more stable in my opinion and I always seam to drop a narrow in a hole were a wide front I can see the wheels better.

Regarding the "narrow front end": in the early '20s IHC came out with the "Regular" tractor. It was their first row-crop design and I had a narrow front end. They also designed a new front-mount cultivator for it and it was an instant hit. A farmer no longer had to depend on his horses to cultivate corn. Dad had a 4-row mounted on his M and I spent many long hours cultivating corn and soybeans. His first Allis was a WD with a narrow front, but he switched it to a wide front so I could plow behind him and the M. I was only 10 at the time. It enjoyed the video with the "Trinity" family; very nice folks. With 5 kids he won't run out of help with milking for many years. Thanks again for another great video.

Enjoyed your videos, and I watch the Trinity videos too. Your two families farm much the same way as I did. I milked cows,(Jerseys) for 42 years, stopped shipping milk September 2022. All of the things you discussed touched so close to home for me, the slight changes in seasons/growing conditions, and the variety of crops we can grow. The way we store feed now, and the dwindling number of dairy farms. I grew up on a farm and started my own dairy at 20 years old, hard work seemed to be my hobby. And much of the fun times we had as kids was around some kind of work, making hay, cutting firewood, making maple syrup in the spring, we just never really thought of it as work, it was just part of life. We were as much a part of the farm as the trees, the fields, and the cows in the barn. I still crop my land and keep cattle, but my sons didn’t want to farm. And I guess if you don’t want to, then you’re better off not. Great seeing the two families comparing techniques. I did wet wrapped bales mostly, and planted 40% Red Clover,40%Alfalfa , 20% Timothy. First year all you get is 3 cuts of clover, next two years 3 cuts of Alfalfa/Timothy, then plough it down for corn silage, my favourite rotation. Cows loved that high sugar Red Clover haylage

So Pops is considering a Uni again?!! Would love to hear his reasonings behind, well everything! Reasoning through the "possible" switch to dry grain, thoughts on a Uni, why he's made the decisions he's made over the years. What he maybe would have done different. And of course any of his stories! One of the few stories I ever got from my dad was lining the bottom of the silo with unglazed crock jugs. He said the juice from the silage would filter through the jug. Never told me what it tasted like... Just always thought it was interesting. Have you seen Kip Siegler Farming? They milk around 200 and use 1 of their cement silos for high moisture shelled corn.

I made a comment this morning on Trinity's site and I'll make one on yours I have sold seed corn in the western Pennsylvania area ranging from 20 miles north of Pittsburgh to probably 60 to 70 miles north of Pittsburgh in my territory for about 35 years. You might be interested to know that in that territory my customers core maturities range from 85 to 90 day in the North to 115-120 days in the South median range being 100 to 105 day. Also interested in your chatting about the forages we have seen more and more of our dairy guys that are spreading liquid manure going to more grass type forage in some instances just because the grass will support the spreading of liquid manure onto the fields and seems to lend itself better than the legumes do. We buried here for 80 years quitting in 1998 and went into beef and we run about a 50 caliber this time of year that grows to between 65 and 80 after we begin calving usually early April. And we have found here that making Baleage and fading 300 to 350 bills every year from usually late November until early June when we put them back out on pasture that our best mix is orchard Grass Timothy alfalfa and a little bit of red clover. Red clover if you get into dry weather that the hay wants to dry faster than you can get it get it up will tend to keep a little on The Greener side and we'll ferment better in the plastic. Very interesting to hear how you guys farm in relation to us enjoy both of your channels immensely. My friend who is with me in the cattle business here last sent me she says I don't know how you can farm all day and watch KZbin Farmers all night but I can't LOL. Lord have mercy I wish I was out there with you guys. I had to add this the narrow front end configuration began to be popularized by international when they built the regular then the f series and in the h's and M's and C's and B's and what I get reading is it really what changed us from narrow front to wide as an industry was more than anything the development of good dependable corn herbicides. The name Farmall was coined by international harvester because the configuration of their tractor was to be used for tillage, planting, working the crop with cultivators be it to any kind of row crop corn beans, cotton anything like that. Then when the better herbicides were developed in the wide front end came into Vogue. The idea was originally that the tractor could be used all year round from tillage till fall harvest work and that is why they coined the name Farmall and everybody else that came after whatever color they were green orange that other color green sands desert sand all those front configurations were copies of the Farmall. I'm an amateur tractor historian and that is basically what I have read and heard from other sources
