Thanks for testing these budget units... It's nice finding a diamond in the rough!! These are so many though! I'm still looking for something comparable to the ATOTO units but with a volume knob. I don't why these ever disappeared as they are about perfect. (Lots of Auto manufacturers are going back to these for obvious reasons.) I hope you'll be able to test some other units that have at least 2g of ram and android auto. Thanks for your reviews!

Thank you for testing these units and doing these reviews. I was going to buy this unit, but decided to get an Atoto A6 PF, based on your review. Also I believe 2GB of RAM isn't enough by itself. The firmware also needs to be tweaked for each model. Probably why the Atoto androids run so well.

Christ! I’d be pulling my hair out waiting for this to load up, definitely worth spending a bit more imo.

I see from the link that you bought the weakest version, 2GB of RAM, it's possible that the 4GB version would be much faster. Let's be honest, nowadays 4GB of RAM is essential. Like left, greetings from Poland Ps. Scania is the best :)

Cheap and cheerful. Not for me, but can imagine a great option for people on a tight budget to get in their car.

What would be the most recommended at the moment? something that is fast

Hey man love your channel! So glad I found it. I'm trying to find an Android auto head unit to put in my Saab NG900. Thing is my steering wheel doesn't have volume control so a head unit with a knob is a must. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks!
@SaabUnleashed3 жыл бұрын
There's plenty of options. If you're after a decent Android based head unit, a 7 inch Joying would do the job with physical buttons. If you have seen something, I can always let you know what I think

@@SaabUnleashed Thanks! I looked into Joying a little more and I'm liking what I see. I was recommended the Sony XAV AX100/1000. They look nice but are also suspiciously cheap.

dear tester! This radio does not include an internal Wi-Fi antenna! The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth antenna is built into the connector of the rear camera! if you don't connect it, the wifi signal is very weak!
@SaabUnleashed Жыл бұрын
If that's true, that is ridiculous :D
@klapkagyorgy7998 Жыл бұрын
@@SaabUnleashed The next time you test a cheaper head unit like this, look at it. There are 2 small antennas on the camera input connector. ;)

@@klapkagyorgy7998 on one hand this is great information, thank you. On the other hand, it's frustrating that they don't make this obvious haha
@klapkagyorgy7998 Жыл бұрын
@@SaabUnleashed This is a solution born out of necessity, the motherboard is shaded from the front by the LCD, and the back of the radio is metal (this cools the processor and the audio amplifier as well), the two together form a faraday cage, so there is no internal Wifi/Bluetooth antenna. But the manufacturers should really draw attention to this. 🤝🏻

Hi. What would you consider to be the minimum configuration and specification for a good example of this type of head unit (android). Would you say 2Gb RAM and 32Gb ROM?? And what about clock speed and number of cores - I see some are Octa-cores now with 2.4GHz clock speeds?

Are all these budget units made by the same company cos they all look same from front and behind.
@SaabUnleashed Жыл бұрын
The very cheapest ones (less than $100) are generally the same product hardware and software with a slightly different launcher sold by different companies. However, the more expensive units will still look the same, but use completely different hardware and software, they will have a much better specification and software that is ultimately better designed. Ultimately, this is the reason why my channel exists, so that I can show you how they differ.

For a video on a head unit the sound is appalling. Background " music" sucks and is distracting. And the sound is so harsh! That cymbal being wacked constantly is absolutely atrocious!!! Come on. Pick up your act.

I'm terribly disappointed to read that the video didn't meet your high standards.
