See Gujrat massive infrastructure development delhi mumbai expressway, dedicated freight corridor, hundred of expressway and highway which helps to lower down their logistics. But westbengal what we are witnessing people are not willing development and change even the project which has came for development under bharatmala pariyojna has to go back because farmer are protesting to give their land. I leave in Gandhinagar and I can tell you that gujrat government is super serious about this project. In 2013 when I came to this city there was just one single road to GIFT city, and now it's one eight lane road and one six lane road, the metro work is already on. The Bank of America itself is going to have an office of around 3000 employees. The tax management is better than any other city in the world.

No reputed international banks worth their salt are investing in Kolkata.. only HDFC and Bandhan are the reputed national banks to invest here. Irrespective of how many PSUs invest in this FinTech Hub, if major private banks do not participate, it will remain a hub on paper only. So yes, GIFT will be much much bigger and reputed in the long run.

How come you do not know Bengali - I notice that you surname appears to be English - so is it not spoken at home. I was 2 years old when we moved to London in 1967 and my parents and their friends still spoke Bengali at home. Though I cannot write Bengali or speak it fluently - just enough to get by with basic words, and I have had not many Bengali conversations in Bengali for 16 years since my mother died, I can still understand the gist of what the presenter is saying. Funny enough, I watched this video as last night I was watching a recording of Satyajit Ray's 1963 film Mahanagar (The Big City) which was shown on FilmFour very late at night a month ago - and, without the subtitles, I would not have followed what was going on as my vocabulary is very limited.

Positive side : Good to know some head office or regional branch office of some PSU banks are making office . they will move from old kolkata esplanade area to new town one day ... Negative side - Reminds us of 1995-96-97 when communist folks used to tell that sector 5 will be big biz and employment hub for youth.. only 25% of that dream fulfilled after 25 years..and now W.B employment , Biz volume is little or major declining...after 2015 peak... ..So may not be hit like north , west or south india as projected here , but expect few development stray news here or there in next 5 then 10 years ..till 2030
