About 5-6 years ago I read in the Telegraph that the MLA of Rajarhat was the only one who spent 96% of the money alloted to him in development while the avg in WB is 60%, where most go to corruption. The development of NewTown is visible for all to see. While most people just glorify the old days, Debashis Sir is one of the few one's who are actually building a new future for WB.

Great to hear these news. We probashi bongs are awaiting more ops to come back to our land. But request the authorities to focus on getting foreign banks, morgan and chase etc and consulting firms top tier, the big 3 mckinsey and all in a larger scale. They are actually more instrumental in growth. Instead of Wipro and all which are now fading away , more product based IT companies and semiconductor companies should be focussed on, to stay repevant in future

Also they are generating a lot of employment. I have an interview with Debasis Sen Sir next week. I am an investment banker by profession. I started my career at Citigroup and then moved to Morningstar. We need to bring big investment banks like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Citi, BNY Mellon, Barclays. They will only come if there is a strong startup ecosystem like Bangalore. Also they target HNI's and UHNI's clients through their wealth management services. Wealth Management is a booming industry and number of HNI's is expected to increase exponentially in India and Mumbai and Bengaluru have the largest number of HNI's. If we want to attract big investment bank we need to promote entrepreneurship and develop smarter investors. We have world class educational institutions like IIT, IIM, CU, ISI Kolkata and many more. What we lack is the risk taking attitude and hard work.

Hope this is a small part of a big plan and not the whole thing by itself. 250 acres is not big plot of land and please do not give the hallucinations that this area is transforming into Wall Street, Silicon Valley type of areas. Wall Street, Silicon Valley etc. are not just assembly of slick buildings but they represent culture and mindset of high qualified and skilled professionals. Bengal had few green shoots in the early 20th century, but now those are being replaced by cesspools of evil mongers. To create something really good it necessary to drain the cesspools first so that lotus can bloom and keep Ma Durga happy.
