I’ve always loved the “Friend Week” scene so much. I just love Leslie going from stern negotiator to loving, excited gift-master who somehow already has presents for an occasion that was just invented.

I headcanon Leslie had been saving those presents for years bc she knew the second these two people became so important to her that she wanted them to become friends as well. She saw the waffle iron listing first and brought it to Ann n Ben's attention to orchestrate a potential moment where they'd become friends through their mutual love for her. We've seen that she's not opposed to using misdirection and trickery (Ron's birthday) so it makes sense that she'd go to such lengths

Here’s my advice. If someone says they need something that’s not an everyday ask, are admiring something and put it back, or tells you that they like something (fandoms, snacks, sports, books, toys, etc.) then take a picture or write it down on like notes or something so that you’ll remember it for later. Even making something with that person in mind can be really nice, as long as it’s thoughtful. But it doesn’t always have to be extravagant. Make sure it’s in your price point. All that matters is that you’re showing the person that you care.

I can say this from experience. As a master gift giver usually 90% of the time, it gives me joy when I see the people’s faces of how my gift is something that they really like or forgot that they needed or liked. But if that thought and consideration is not reciprocated, then it can be a little disheartening sometimes. But like Leslie at the end, it really touches me when someone does something nice for me or got me something they put a lot of thought and effort into. 😊 Even the little things. It’s all about paying attention.
