i wonder if you could design and sew a noise reducing headband. i have autism and extreme noise sensitivity but earplugs make my ears hurt after wearing them for a while and headphones are sort of embarrassing. i’m sure if you figure out a design and sell it or the pattern it would help so many people!
@Infiniteuponinfinite26 күн бұрын
Have you tried wax earplugs? I am a musician and often use the foam ear pieces which are like ear plugs, and i am also a light sleeper, and my husband snores sometimes, so I need earplugs… when I finally discovered wax earplugs, it was a game changer. I can actually sleep with them and they don’t injure my ear. And they seal the sound. The only drawback is, I can hear myself breathing. But sometimes that acts as a sort of white noise. Maybe you’ve tried them, but I thought I’d recommend in case you haven’t.

Thank you, fun to watch. I made a magnetic fishing game for my grandson last year for Christmas and already made a magnetic fishing game for my granddaughter this year for Christmas, fishing rods and magnetic worm to catch the fish. I also made a big fish sack to store all fish in. I too made my grandson a Super cape, appliqued letter S on it too, for Super Sam. I also made little doll dresses and 18 inch doll clothes. I have made 3 rag quilts for all 3 of my grandchildren. They are fun and quick to make too.

Fun video! Thank you for the great ideas. I try to sew something for most of the 27 grandkids for Christmas - at least the 12 and under ages. This year I plan to make your book sleeves for the older kids - maybe out of denim with some appropriate appliqués. But if I run short on time they might get pillow cases. Most years the very little ones get quilts - small ones they can drag around the house. It seems all ages over toddler love pillowcases. My adult son requested one when he saw I made one for his stepdaughter. 😂 I also do book pillows, or purses or bags. Parents appreciate the pillow cases as a useful gift that is anti-clutter. A big YES from me for a farm animal set - pattern please! And if my DIL is still drinking from mason jars (not moonshine haha) she is getting your jar cozie!

I made my oldest Granddaughter an Elsa dress, it was so hard to make, slippery and thin shiny fabric. I was pulling my hair out! But she and her 3 sisters have worn it! It absolutely makes my heart so happy to see how worn it is on granddaughter number 4! It has always been a favorite of the girls.

Lovely, do-able gift ideas, thank you, it's made me think about getting busy for next year's birthdays, adapt the sleeping bag for the dolls buggy. . The dressing up dolls are good for little hands. But the grandma doll? I don't look anything like that, I don't think my granddaughter would recognise that it was supposed to represent me!

I love sewing gifts for Christmas. It brings a lot of joy and the creativity aspect is endless. Last year I made chicken grocery bag holders for several family members. This year I made book pillows for my neices and nephews. I also made crochet/knitting project bags with dowel handles. They turned out amazing. The one gift I always recommend as a no fail is rice warmers. You can make them in different shapes and sizes and they make wonderful gifts.

Another thing I’m making for pressies are mug rugs. They are small quilts about 9”x6” roughly and I appliqué a Christmas picture or something similar and then just quilt and bind them. People seem to like them especially if they are gifted with some nice biscuits! Probably more for older children or adults but could always put name on for younger children. ❤

One of my favorite dress-ups I made for my oldest daughter was a zip up hoodie that I added dino spikes down the back, and eyes on top, then a separate tail that velcroed on her waste. That girl is now 14, and we regifted to a friend years ago, but I now finally have a boy! So making it again for him for Christmas this year. Also, hoping to make little holistic doctor kit for my preschooler.

I made a quilt for my grandson using fun, colorful fabrics and he absolutely loves it. He takes it on any and all overnights, vacations, etc. I made it in the style of an old-fashioned summer quilt with just the quilt top and then backed it with flannel, so no batting. Makes it a little lighter weight for our hot climate in NC. That was several years ago and he’s now going on 10. Almost finished with another new quilt for him and he helped me pick out the fabrics this time. Thank you for your videos!

I used to make fun pj pants and always had some goofy fabric. The trouble was I never feel “Christmasy” until about Dec. 20th. Most years that meant staying up all night the night before Christmas Eve. This particular year I had come across sponge Bob fabric. Not only that but the background was blaze orang in a sort of splotchy faux animal print. I had finished and wrapped all the girl pjs, but with grandsons and sons-in-law I had 13 more pairs to make. At first I was laughing. Thinking about the sons-in-law asking who the heck is sponge Bob? And then seeing them all decked out in this hideous florescent colour In the end the joke was on me. By the time I finished I felt like my eyeballs were going to pop right out of my head or maybe they were going to bleed but in orange!

@@PinCutSew yes it was one of those christmases that gets called up every year or so talking about those ugly orange pj pants. For babies/toddlers I used to sew puzzle balls. I don’t remember where I got the pattern but if you do a search for “fabric puzzle ball” you’ll find a bunch. They aren’t the most beginner friendly project because it involves sewing lots of curves. For kids that are a little older, they like a crayon/colored pencil/marker roll (same kind of pattern as a knitting needle roll) and if you make it out of thicker wool felt it’s pretty easy/quick to make. They go well with sketch pads as a gift.

I make the taggy blankets. I think that was the first video of yours I watched and then immediately subscribed. I love it that you replied to my comment and that sometimes we exchange ideas. I don’t know what they are called but I make this rectangular fabric thing that I put a web (lattice?) of elastic on both sides of. Pretty tightly woven over and under. I slide a piece of cardboard or a DT cutting mat cut to fit in one of shorter ends. Older kids, pre-teens, teens, co-workers, new moms, etc love it. You can slide whatever smaller odds and ends type of thing in the elastic and it stays there. Makeup. Charging cables and cubes. I- pencils. Small things of hand sanitizer, lotions, diaper creams. A not so small deodorant along with a toothbrush and toothpaste and the bag of braces tiny bands. Hair stuff. Endless things that people use them for. People often ask me if I will make one for their friend if a friend’s cousin. Anyway I’m sure you get the idea. I am sure someone bought one from an actual store at one time but I have only seen them diy’d. I first saw it at a craft fair 25 or more years ago. I immediately loved it and then wouldn’t buy it because it was $30.

Annie, you DO NOT have the right to tell others what they can or can not say. If you are too precious for video's like this, move on. Also consider the damage that you are causing/ allowing for your son. As a woman whose mother wanted a son first and tried to 'change' me, deny my very existence as a girl, I am beyond furious at her rejection of me and her abu_se/ manipulation just so SHE could 'feel better'. I now know her to be highly narcissistic and have been no contact for years. I hope you have some really good answers for your son when he comes to you and asks why you didn't validate HIM as a boy/ man, but instead validated the perverse trends of strangers. Get over yourself. Raise your son well. He doesn't deserve the consequences that are ahead. Ones that he alone will have to endure, not you. You are not loving your son.
