Great video Tobias. Thank you for the annotations. They are very helpful and appreciated. I wonder how the Germans feel about major German automakers shrinking but Tesla growing? I wonder if the citizenry now see the benefits of non-unionized companies with direct sale to consumers model. IMO they have to change quickly if they want to survive.

I do not see a future for any of the legacy automakers, European or any other. They were too invested in fossil fuels and enjoyed the profits so much and so blinded by their hubris that no one could make cars better or cheaper than them that this kick from Tesla will not just hurt bad but will be existential. And with the coming of the Robocars the very concept of transportation will change and buying / owning cars will become superfluous! Another 10 years, and all the great car brands of last century will be gone!

Soviele schöne neue Y und kein einziges ist in rot dabei. Dabei ist das rot wirklich eine tolle Farbe.

Tatsächlich sind da einige rote dabei. Allerdings nur midnight cherry red, was sehr dunkel ist und oft fast schwarz aussieht.

How many people are actually arriving via train nowadays? Initially this weren't so many, but seeing so many empty parking lots suggests that more people take the train now...? Also, thanks for the super-smooth camera views again!

When the new mainline station opens, will the current factory branch line close?

No. The branch line as such is public infrastructure serving the Freienbrink industrial estate. Tesla cannot remove it. The shuttle service will also continue. Ending it at the new mainline station would mean that Tesla would have to increase the capacity of the plant's own transport system. And it's easier to "park" a train at the terminal train stop of the branch line for some time (before it returns) then at a platform of the mainline station.

Der Bahnhof wird ja vom Osten ( über Fürstenwalde) und im Westen über Falkensee, Alex , Ostkreuz bedingt, also den Regionalbahnen. Der Shuttle fährt ja nur vom Bahnsteig des Regionalzuges Erkner bis zum Tesla Gelände. Also für alle, die z.B. mit der S-Bahn kommen oder in Erkner P+R nutzen. Dazu kommt, dass ja die Menschen auf dem Gelände sich den besseren Zugang wählen werden.

@@RichardMott-g6c Usually there are no trains at all going to Freienbrink. The last time that track was used before Tesla, it was used to unload parts for the construction of the gas pipeline nearby. That track is part of the public network though, so Tesla can't just remove it. The track will be moved further to the east though.
